Ex-Super Eagles Midfielder, Emmanuel Ebiede Is Dead
Emmanuel Ebiede, a former midfielder for the Super Eagles, has passed away, Ejes Gist News Nigeria reports.
On Friday, it was confirmed that Ebiede had died from Hepatomegaly.
He passed away at age 47.

The former Super Eagles midfielder Emmanuel Ebiede has passed away after suffering Hepatomegaly (liver enlargement).
Ebiede passed away on Friday at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital in Port Harcourt.
In 1995, he played for the Flying Eagles at the African Youth Championship.
David Doherty, a football administrator based in the United Kingdom, confirmed the death of the former SC Heerenveen player.
Doherty stated, “I just confirmed with Emmanuel’s daughter that he is dead.
“I’m very sad as we speak. I spoke with this person two days ago to find out how he was doing.
Doherty had already begun a campaign to raise funds for Ebiede’s treatment when the news of his condition broke.
Ebiede earned two caps for the Super Eagles, making his debut on January 28, 1998 against Iran in a pre-World Cup friendly under Serbian Bora Milutinovic.
Similarly, The Ebonyi police command arrested four suspects in connection with the alleged murder of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward chairman Peter Nweke in Ezza north Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
During the 18 March governorship and state assembly elections in Ebonyi, it is alleged that the PDP leader was beaten to death.

Onome Onovwakpoyeya, the state’s police spokesperson, stated at a press conference on Friday in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi, that one of the suspects is a Labour Party (LP) house of assembly candidate.
She stated that the suspects were arrested on March 28. They are Kelechi Nwali, Onyebuchi Chita, Aloke Obinna, and Ifeanyi Nwokpuku.
The police spokesperson explained that 21 individuals are also being sought in relation to the crime.
