Popular Tanzanian Bongo Flava singer Mandojo was mobbed to death on Sunday, 11th August 2024, following a mistaken identification as a thief. The sad event has shocked the music community and left his fans in mourning.
Fellow musician Soggy Doggy has confirmed Mandojo’s passing through an emotional post, lamenting the death of his brother and friend. He posted, “My heart is in great pain, I will miss you very much, my brother and friend. Rest in peace, Mandojo. Surely human life is very short on this earth. Sorry brothers, relatives, and friends. I’m very sorry, my brother @domokayatz, God’s work has no mistakes.
Another heartfelt tribute was paid by colleague Domo Kaya, who shared his disbelief and sadness over the loss: “Daaaah MY SON, I don’t believe the 22nd of this month was supposed to be your birthday. Aisee why! This is so sad. Rest in peace. May God give you eternal light, friend, brother,” he posted.
The untimely death was just days to his birthday, so the situation is very tragic. He was among the popular Bongo Flava musicians and is known for hit songs like “Nikupe” and “Dingi”, which gave him a huge following.
