Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Isaac Bristol Tamunobifiri, also known as PIDOM, in Kuje Correctional Facility. This decision came after PIDOM was arraigned on nine counts, including money laundering, cybercrime, and disseminating classified documents.
The charges against PIDOM include accessing a computer network to mobilize Nigerians for political actions and transmitting false classified documents about government funds. The prosecution also alleges PIDOM tampered with evidence by destroying his phone and attempting to flush it down a toilet during his arrest.

PIDOM, who pleaded not guilty to all charges, faced objections to his bail application. Justice Nwite has adjourned the bail ruling to September 23 and ordered PIDOM’s detention in Kuje.
The Inspector General of Police’s accusations against PIDOM involve mobilizing support for political causes through social media and leaking sensitive documents. The police claim that PIDOM’s actions, including the destruction of evidence, were part of a broader conspiracy involving investigative journalist David Hundeyin and one Michael Alade.
Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi stated that PIDOM was arrested following a petition from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. Adejobi added that PIDOM resisted arrest, destroyed evidence, and unlawfully accessed and leaked classified information. The police continue to investigate and pursue other suspects linked to these alleged crimes.
