Obi-Datti Campaign deny ‘deal’ with Atiku
The media office of the Obi-Datti 2023 presidential campaign has dispelled rumours that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has made a “political deal” to support the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja, the campaign office branded the rumours as the work of philanthropic propagandists who delight in twisting the truth in the pursuit of imagining importance for their paymasters.
The statement said, in part,
“Rather than strive to contend with the hard sell of their candidates, these mischief makers bandy about misleading accounts of the issue-based messages of our candidates just to score cheap political points and thus distract the discerning public.”
This was part of the statement that was released.
“While we realize the irritation of dealing with their difficult- to- sell “expired milk” [apologies to BAT], in a competitive market, the FairPlay law requires that you don’t identify the good with the bad goods.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We insist on honour even from dishonest people!
“We are aware of the objective of the spin-doctors in spreading the completely false notion that the frontrunner candidate for the Labour Party, Peter Obi, met with his PDP opponent and struck a pact.
There is no way that this could possibly be the truth.
In addition, it was said that “Obi’s international travel, its goal, as well as where and who he was to meet, are already in the public domain; his meeting in the UK with some Nigerian political leaders is visually seen by all.”
“However, in a foolish attempt to clean up their candidate, propagandists would rather invent lies than tell the truth.
“We understand why the spotlight is on the Obi-Datti campaign; they are without a doubt the top runners in this race for 2023, and the tag team has enticing messages that are connecting with the beleaguered Nigerian population who are more eager than ever to reclaim and take back their nation.

“The candidates for the Libertarian Party are on a divine mission to save and rebuild our country, and they cannot allow themselves to be sidetracked by any fabrications that are meant to mislead the people.”
If Obi’s goal is to save Nigeria from the existing order, then he should not be considered as working for the new order.
The media office made note of the fact that the tales around the subject show the writers as having exhausted themselves even before the beginning of the electioneering campaign and are now resorting to fabricating supporters.
It was argued that the same people who said that Obi is a social media phantom wave without the political structure to win an election are today struggling to “photoshop” the same Obi with their candidate.
The argument was based on the fact that the same people made the statement.
The media office also issued the following statement: “Obi’s respect for Atiku or any other leader in this country has more to do with his sound upbringing and the fact that his style of politics is devoid of hate and bitterness.
This should not be misconstrued in any form to represent other things.
“These propagandists need to be made aware of the fact that the movement that Obi and Datti-Ahmed are leading is not something that is under the hands of one individual who is negotiating it away.
“The Nigerian people have taken control of Obi’s vehicle and are transporting him to the Aso Rock Villa; they are not going to look to the side for any potential distractions.
“The Obi-Datti media office is privy to intelligence that many distorted stories will be dished to the public in order to create confusion in the minds of the public.
Additionally, the Obi-Datti media office notes that such a mission is dead on arrival because the people’s commitment to the Obidient assignment is total.”
