Nasiru Idris wins Kebbi governorship election
Nasiru Idris, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged victorious in the 2023 gubernatorial election held in Kebbi State.
On Sunday, the Returning Officer for Kebbi State, Yusuf Saidu, declared Idris as the winner in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

According to Saidu, a Nutritional Biochemistry Professor at Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto (UDUS), Idris emerged victorious in the recent elections with a total of 409,225 votes. His closest competitor, Maj-Gen. Aminu Bande (rtd.) of the Peoples Democratic Party, received 360,940 votes.
The difference in the number of votes between the two parties is 48,285.

In a closely contested poll, Idris has emerged as the winner, as announced by the Returning Officer, Professor Yusuf Saidu. “I, Professor Yusuf Saidu, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the 2023 Kebbi State Governorship Election held on the 15th day of April, 2023″.
