The news of him dumping the Labour Party for the APC comes just a few hours after he was accused of working for Ahmed Tinubu by Peter Obi Grassroots Mobilization 2023 Movement.

Ejes Gist Newspaper earlier reported that a support group for the Labour Party, LP, and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has accused the party’s chairman in Lagos state, Kayode Salako, of working against the party.

On Saturday, the Obi support group issued a statement via its Twitter handle.

According to the Peter Obi Grassroots Mobilization 2023 Movement, Salako is working for the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State.

It states that Salako must be expelled from the Labour Party.

“The chairman of the Lagos Labour Party, Kayode Salako, is working for Tinubu.” “We must expel him from the party,” the group stated.

Remember that the Lagos Chapter of the Labour Party elected Salako, the husband of Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola, as the new state party chairman in July 2022.

A copy of his appointment letter was sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in advance of the 2023 general elections.

Meanwhile, Salako has stated that his primary goal in leading the Labour Party in Lagos is to win elections. “It’s not worth it if I can’t win elections,” he said.

At a meeting with representatives of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and other political organisations in Lagos, Salako revealed that the purpose of running a political party is to win elections.

“If a political party exists but is unable to win elections, it will not only be labelled as an unserious party,” he said.

“My mission as the new chairman of the LP in Lagos,” he told the gathering, is to coordinate the party in order to win elections.

“The executives’ primary goal for the 2023 general elections in Nigeria is to run the party well and ensure that it becomes the next ruling party in Lagos.”

“I don’t believe in impossible things.” It is feasible and doable! God’s divine grace, which is currently upon the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Gregory OBI, can make it happen.

“My primary goal in running the Lagos Liberation Party is to win elections.” It’s not worth it if I can’t win elections. ”

“I want my name to be written in gold in the book of Nigeria’s history as that son of a nobody who came, ruled his party well, and won elections in Lagos State for the first time,” he added.

“My mission is to help my party win elections.” “That is where my fulfilment as the state chairman of the Labour Party will always lie,” he added.

At the time of this report, the Labour Party has not officially confirmed if he has dumped the party , but Tinubu’s support groups are sharing the news of him joining APC on various social media platforms.
