Federal Lawmaker Ekene Abubakar Adams Dies, Cause of Death Emerges (photo)
The House of Representatives is in tears over the reported death of Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, a first-term member who represented Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, following his long-term illness. He had been elected as a first-time member during the last general elections on the platform of the Labour Party.
Adams, said to have lived a decent life in sports, is a former footballer with Remo Stars and holder of the position of General Manager of Kada City Football Club in Kaduna. Until his death, he was serving as Chairman of the House Committee on Sports.

This was the second within less than a week recently, as it came to the heels of the death of Hon. Akinremi Olaide, representing Ibadan North. The late Adams was the fourth to the House since its inauguration in June 2023; the event no doubt will deepen the somber mood of the lawmakers.
His death is now confirmed, with efforts on to get details from the House spokesman, Hon. Akintunde Rotumi, and that of Chairman of the Kaduna caucus, Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji.
The House of Representatives and indeed the entire political community in Nigeria mourn the sudden passage of Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, one of the most dedicated members on legislative duties to his country and its sports development.
