This type of scam, whereby people received unsolicited calls that encourage them to make very expensive callbacks, was previously warned of by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC. The same is true for MTN Nigeria, a telecommunications provider, which has issued basic guidelines for subscribers to ensure they do not become victims.

On a similar note, Governor Adeleke recently suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Emmanuel Adebisi, pending an investigation headed by the Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinleye.
