The Cross River State chapter of the City Boy Movement has inaugurated its chapters in Obanliku, Obudu and Bekwarra Local Government Areas as part of efforts to expand its grassroots presence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration ceremonies featured the unveiling of the movement’s local government, ward and polling unit structures, alongside the official unveiling of its LGA secretariat to facilitate coordination, mobilisation and engagement with residents across the three council areas.

Eyo Ita Charges Executives on Grassroots Mobilisation

Speaking at the separate inauguration ceremonies, the State Director of the movement, Hon. Eyo Ita, urged the newly inaugurated executives to intensify grassroots engagement and take the message of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to communities across the state.

Ita stressed the importance of sustained mobilisation at the ward and polling unit levels, charging the executives to ensure that the movement’s activities reach residents across their respective local government areas.

He also emphasised the need for the new leadership structures to remain active and committed to expanding the movement’s presence throughout Cross River State.

Movement Targets Support for Tinubu, Otu

Also speaking at the events, the Cross River North Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, Barr. Paul Ishabo, said the initiative was aimed at consolidating support for President Tinubu and Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu.

According to Ishabo, the inauguration of the local government chapters forms part of the movement’s efforts to mobilise voters for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He called on the newly inaugurated executives to remain committed to the movement’s objectives, strengthen its structures and work towards expanding its reach across their respective communities.

The establishment of the LGA, ward and polling unit structures is expected to provide an organisational framework for the movement’s activities as political groups begin preparations for the next general elections.

Inauguration Tour Continues in Ogoja, Yala

The movement is scheduled to continue its inauguration tour on Wednesday with the inauguration of its chapters in Ogoja and Yala Local Government Areas.

The tour will subsequently move to the Central Senatorial District on Thursday as the organisation continues to establish its structures across Cross River State.

The latest inaugurations mark another step in the City Boy Movement’s efforts to build its grassroots network and coordinate political mobilisation in support of the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
