Buhari Names New NYSC DG after Sack of Fadah
Uba takes over as NYSC acting DG
Christy Uba, who formerly served as the National Youth Service Corps’ (NYSC) Director of Information and Communications Technology, has been promoted to the position of acting Director-General (DG), the organisation just announced.
It is possible that she will go down in history as the first woman to be appointed head of the NYSC since the organisation was founded almost fifty years ago.

According to a statement that was released on Tuesday by Eddy Megwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations for the National Youth Service Corps, the appointment came after President Muhammadu Buhari removed Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah from his position as DG.
The heading of the statement said, “Mrs. Uba to Oversee NYSC Pending Appointment of Substantive Director General.”

“The most senior director in the scheme has taken over the leadership of the corps in the capacity of overseer, pending the appointment of a substantive Director General by Mr. President,” Megwa said. “The appointment of a substantive Director General by Mr. President is expected to take place in the coming days.”
