The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is preparing an elaborate election-rigging strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections, warning opposition parties to take urgent steps to protect their chances.

 

Ayodele claimed that the alleged plan would involve sophisticated techniques capable of influencing the outcome of the elections in ways Nigerians had never witnessed before.

 

The cleric made the allegations in a statement issued on Sunday and signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin.

 

He urged opposition parties to strengthen their preparations and address what he described as a lack of seriousness in their efforts to challenge the ruling party, warning that failure to act early could leave them unable to respond effectively to the alleged scheme.

 

According to him, the opposition risks being pushed out of the electoral contest if it fails to take the necessary precautions before the elections.

 

“If the opposition doesn’t do the needful now, they will rig them out with a kind of high-level technique.

 

“It will be the kind that has never happened in Nigeria before. If care isn’t taken, it will happen, and there is nothing the opposition will do about it,” Ayodele said.

 

Primate Ayodele Predicts Rigging Plans Ahead of Election Day

 

The cleric further alleged that the ruling party’s purported rigging arrangements would be activated approximately 10 days before the 2027 elections.

 

He claimed that the preparations would have been concluded by that period, adding that the APC was determined to retain power.

 

Ayodele also criticised opposition parties for what he described as insufficient commitment towards building a strong challenge against President Bola Tinubu and the APC.

 

“The rigging plans will be set in motion ten days before the election. Every plan will be perfected by then because the ruling party is desperate to win this election. The opposition hasn’t shown seriousness yet to win this election,” he added.

Ayodele also alleged that President Bola Tinubu would deploy every available means to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election, describing the president as desperate to retain power.

 

He further claimed that several state governors could emerge victorious through elections that would not be entirely free and fair.

 

In another part of his prediction, the cleric alleged that the APC would soon hold a strategic meeting involving individuals he described as technical riggers and some electoral officials.

 

He claimed that the alleged gathering would be used to perfect plans capable of influencing the election results without attracting public attention.

 

“President Tinubu will do anything to win this election; he is very desperate and serious about this election. Many governors will not win free and fair in this election.

 

“Also, I see APC holding a strategic meeting with technical riggers and some electoral officials.

 

“Nigerians will not be aware of it, but that will be where the rigging plans will be perfected. The opposition must wake up now,” he said.

 

2027 Elections And Concerns Over Electoral Credibility

 

Ayodele’s allegations come as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the ruling APC and opposition parties positioning themselves for what is expected to be a major political contest.

 

The cleric’s claims, however, remain allegations and predictions. He did not provide evidence to substantiate the alleged rigging arrangements or identify the electoral officials purportedly involved.

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is constitutionally responsible for conducting federal and state elections in Nigeria, while ensuring that the electoral process meets the requirements of the law.

 

His warning has once again drawn attention to concerns about electoral credibility, political competition and the need for transparency in the conduct of the 2027 elections.
