NYSC Sets September 2026 Date for Batch C Registration, Makes NERD Clearance Mandatory
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has set Monday, 7 September to Sunday, 13 September 2026 as the official period for online registration for prospective corps members preparing for the 2026 Batch C mobilisation exercise.
Ahead of the exercise, the management of the scheme warned that prospective corps members must obtain clearance from the National Education Records Database (NERD) before completing their online registration. Candidates who fail to secure the required clearance will not be permitted to register for the service year.
“NERD clearance is compulsory for all PCMs. No NERD clearance, no NYSC registration,” the notice stated.

The scheme, Ejes Gist News has learned, advised candidates to obtain their NERD clearance early to avoid unnecessary delays during the mobilisation process.
The online registration portal will officially open on Monday, 7 September 2026, and close on Sunday, 13 September 2026. The NYSC urged all prospective corps members to complete the mandatory clearance ahead of the opening date to guarantee smooth processing of their applications.
