The Delta State Government has announced plans to hold a statewide Praise and Thanksgiving Service on Friday, May 29, 2026, as part of activities marking the third anniversary of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.

The event, officially tagged Delta State Praise and Thanksgiving Day 2026, will take place at the Dome Event Centre in Asaba beginning at 10:00 a.m. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is expected to host the gathering alongside senior government officials, political leaders, religious figures and other stakeholders from across the state.

The State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Asaba, describing the programme as an opportunity for the state to collectively express gratitude to God for peace, unity and progress recorded under the current administration.

Aniagwu said the event would bring together people from different backgrounds in an atmosphere of worship, praise and prayer, with special intercessions expected for the continued stability and development of Delta State and Nigeria.

According to him, the anniversary thanksgiving is not only intended to celebrate the administration’s achievements over the past three years, but also to seek divine guidance for the future of the state.

“The Delta State Praise and Thanksgiving Day offers us an opportunity to appreciate God Almighty for His grace, peace and blessings upon our state and to seek His continued guidance as we continue on the path of growth and development,” the commissioner stated.

He urged residents across the state to participate actively in the programme, noting that the gathering would reflect the shared aspirations of Deltans for sustained peace, unity and prosperity.

The service is expected to feature worship sessions, praise ministrations and prayers, while renowned cleric Joshua Selman is billed to minister during the event.
