Controversial Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has filed a ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit against social media influencer VeryDarkMan, born Martins Vincent Otse.

The lawsuit stems from accusations that VeryDarkMan disseminated damaging audio allegedly created using Artificial Intelligence (AI), which Bobrisky claims has severely harmed his reputation.

The legal document, shared online by Bobrisky, outlines the crossdresser’s demands, including a public retraction and an apology from VeryDarkMan within 24 hours. Bobrisky’s legal team argues that the viral audio suggests he paid ₦15 million to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop money laundering charges against him. Additionally, it alleges that instead of serving a six-month prison sentence for naira abuse, Bobrisky bribed Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) officers to secure VIP treatment.

In response to these serious allegations, the Federal Government has reportedly suspended several senior NCoS officers pending an investigation into the claims.

Troops Foil ISWAP Insurgents’ Attack In Borno

Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Operation Hadin Kai, Sector 3, have foiled an attempted attack by the Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP terrorists along the Magumeri–Maiduguri axis, in Borno.

The troops also recovered a cache of ammunition from the insurgents in a tactical operation in the area.

Lt.-Col. Olaniyi Osaba, Chief Military Information Officer, MNJTF, N’djamena, Chad, said this in a statement on Sunday in Maiduguri.

He said the troops executed a tactical ambush, neutralising the threat before the terrorists could wreak havoc on innocent civilians.

Osaba said the troops positioned themselves tactically along the terrorists’ path of movement and engaged them as they emerged from a forested area on motorcycles.

“On sighting the troops, the terrorists attempted to flee but were met with a heavy barrage of gunfire.

“This decisive engagement forced them to abandon their weapons and motorcycles, disrupting their plan to unleash violence in the region,” he said.

He listed the weapons recovered to include two AK-47 Rifles, 51 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two magazines, 61 rounds of 7.62 NATO ammunition, parcels of marijuana and Tramadol, among others

BBNaija: Mercy Eke Apologises After Her Handler Called Onyeka ‘gold Digger’

Reality star, Mercy Eke has tendered an apology after her social media handler labelled Big Brother Naija ‘No Loose Guard’ housemate, Onyeka, a “gold digger.”
The handler in a now-deleted tweet, accused Onyeka of being with Ozee Mbadiwe because of his wealthy background.

“Onyeka the Mbadiwe gold digger sorry to burst your bubbles there’s no gold in the twins… #BBnaija,” Mercy Eke’s verified X handle posted.

The post sparked outrage from fans, who took to their pages to condemn Eke’s action.

Following the backlash, Eke issued an apology, explaining that the tweet wasn’t posted by her but by her handler.

She said she has left anything that concerns Big Brother Naija behind and couldn’t have involved herself in this season’s drama.

She wrote, “Can’t believe I’m waking up to this on my birthday. A handler that was supposed to post my birthday contents and reply to birthday wishes was involving herself in a BBN drama and now I have to deal with this mess???

“I have left everything BBN behind for Christ’s sake! And seeing such silly opinions, especially about one of the housemates I like! The only reason I’m not tagging this person’s main page is to not get her bullied by fans, because this is highly unprofessional.

“I apologize to Team Onyeka because this is so embarrassing coming from my account, it definitely does not represent me or how I feel.”

We Say No To Adebutu’s Strangulation Of Ogun PDP Over 2027 Ambition – Akinlade

The Deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the Ogun 2023 governorship election, Adekunle Akinlade, has said the party is not in support of Ladi Adebutu’s 2027 ambition.

Adebutu and Akinlade campaigned on a combined ticket in the March 18, 2023 election, but lost to the incumbent, APC’s Dapo Abiodun.

DAILY POST reports that although Adebutu has not made his intention to recontest known to the public, the two political leaders have been torn apart over the next election.

Speaking to newsmen after the congress, Akinlade popularly called Triple A said there was a parallel congress on Saturday, insisting that it is a conscious and deliberate line of action to stop Adebutu 2027 ambition.

Akinlade maintained that Adebutu who hails from the same Ikenne Local Government as Governor Dapo Abiodun should not recontest in 2027.

He said “ We are aware that Hon. Ladi Adebutu is deploying billions to influence his aspiration at all levels, but as stakeholders in Ogun PDP, myself, Hon. Sikirula Ogundele who emerged as the State chairman at today’s state congress, Otunba Jimi Lawal, Hon. Dimeji Fabiyi, including hundreds of our party leaders across the state have resolved to put Ogun state first.

“ There is no way the incumbent governor, H.E Prince Dapo Abiodun who is from Iperu in Ikene LG of Ogun State will be completing his 8yrs term in 2027 God willing, and a self-entitled Iperu man will want to be governor in 2027.

“ So what happened today is a conscious and deliberate line of action by all of us to say no to Hon. Ladi Adebutu’s 2027 ambition. He can run in 2031, 2035 or 2029!! Definitely not 2027.

“We had parallel Ward and LG congresses just weeks back and we sat in court at FHC Abeokuta on that. We had a very successful State Congress today, the 28th of September 2024.

October 1 Fears Grip Ministers as Tinubu Set to Appoint Kwankwaso, Sani

October 1 Fears Grip Ministers, as Tinubu  set to Appoint Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and Senator Shehu Sani.

Ahead of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebration, there is growing apprehension within the Federal Executive Council (FEC) over the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle by President Bola Tinubu. Sources within the presidency have indicated that some ministers could lose their positions due to poor performance or actions that have been deemed unsatisfactory, including irregularities in recent board appointments.

According to a source at the Presidential Villa, some ministers may face removal due to these infractions, with speculations suggesting that President Tinubu may announce the reshuffle around Independence Day on October 1.

The reshuffle could result in the dismissal of as many as eight ministers, according to close insiders, although the exact number remains uncertain.

In addition to these potential dismissals, there are strong indications that President Tinubu may bring opposition politicians into his cabinet, with Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) being considered for a ministerial appointment. Kwankwaso’s political influence, particularly his Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano State, is seen as a key asset. However, concerns have been raised by those within the ruling party who fear that Kwankwaso could leverage the appointment to mount a presidential bid in 2027.

I Wrote Hit Songs For Wizkid – Skales

Another opposition figure who may join the cabinet is Senator Shehu Sani, a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who left the party in 2018 to join the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP). Sani’s potential inclusion in the government reflects Tinubu’s desire to bring in “fresh hands” and extend his reach across party lines.

While Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that Tinubu has been contemplating a cabinet reshuffle, he did not specify when it might take place or which ministers would be affected. Nonetheless, reports have speculated that as many as eleven ministers could be at risk, with various political actors both inside and outside the government actively lobbying for positions in the restructured cabinet.

With Nigeria’s Independence Day approaching, the reshuffle could serve as a significant step in President Tinubu’s efforts to realign his administration and bring in new faces to tackle the country’s pressing challenges. However, as the president plays his cards close to his chest, uncertainty looms for those currently holding office.

The Lagos-Calabar highway, which spans over 700 kilometres, traverses Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states. Umahi emphasized that tolls will be introduced for a period of five to ten years to recover the construction costs.

“People did not see this project as an investment,” he stated. “The first section will be completed by May 29, and we’re going to toll it, recovering our money within five to 10 years.”

To maximize returns, the government is acquiring land along the coastal highway for the development of tourism, factories, and housing.

“We’ve seen that tolling alone won’t bring immediate returns, so we are investing in land for tourism, factories, and housing,” Umahi explained.

The project also includes plans to harness renewable wind energy along the corridor for future development, ensuring the infrastructure’s long-term sustainability.

36 Pro-Biafra Activists Acquitted by Ebonyi State High Court After Over Four Years in Detention.

An Ebonyi State High Court has discharged and acquitted 36 Pro-Biafra activists, who spent over four years in detention. The announcement was made by Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), during a press briefing in Owerri on Friday, September 27.

The activists, all from Ebonyi State, were initially arrested in 2020 and charged with murder. However, the prosecution consistently failed to present sufficient evidence throughout the trial. Following a “No Case Submission,” the court dismissed the murder charges on September 27, 2022. Despite this acquittal, the activists faced re-arrest under new charges, including unlawful possession of firearms and robbery.

Ejiofor noted that the court had discharged the activists again on December 22, 2023, yet prison officials continued to hold them. He condemned this situation as a blatant disregard for judicial authority.

Even after another acquittal on September 27, 2024, officials cited a new charge before the Ikwo High Court as justification for their ongoing detention.

He expressed concern that such actions could tarnish the state’s reputation on the international stage and urged for the immediate release of the activists to uphold justice and human rights.

  • Who is Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah? All you need to know

Who is Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah? All you need to know

Hassan Nasrallah, born in 1960, has been the leader of Hezbollah for over three decades. He is one of the most influential and well-known figures in the Middle East, despite being a shadowy figure who has not appeared in public for years due to fears of assassination by Israel.

    Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah Background.

Nasrallah grew up in Beirut’s Bourj Hammoud neighborhood, where his father ran a small greengrocer. He was the eldest of nine children. During Lebanon’s civil war, he joined the Shia militia Amal, but after a brief time studying in the Iraqi city of Najaf, he split from Amal and, in 1982, helped form what would become Hezbollah. The group received military and organizational support from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and quickly rose to prominence among Lebanon’s Shia militias.

Israeli Airstrike Kills Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut

    Hezbollah Origin.

In 1985, Hezbollah officially declared its existence, publishing an open letter that identified the United States and the Soviet Union as Islam’s enemies and called for the “obliteration” of Israel, claiming it was occupying Muslim lands.

Nasrallah rose through the organization’s ranks, serving as a fighter and later taking charge in several regions before becoming the group’s leader in 1992, following the assassination of his predecessor, Abbas al-Musawi, in an Israeli helicopter strike.

One of Nasrallah’s first actions as leader was to retaliate for Musawi’s killing. This led to rocket attacks on northern Israel, a car bombing that killed an Israeli security officer in Turkey, and a suicide bombing at the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which killed 29 people.

Under Nasrallah’s leadership, Hezbollah engaged in a low-intensity war with Israel, which eventually led to Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000.

Iranian aircraft told not to enter Lebanese airspace – reports

Nasrallah hailed this as the first Arab victory over Israel and vowed that Hezbollah would not disarm until all Lebanese territory, including the disputed Shebaa Farms, was restored.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Israel.

Nasrallah’s Hezbollah maintained a tense relationship with Israel until 2006, when a Hezbollah cross-border raid killed eight Israeli soldiers and captured two others. This sparked the 34-day Israel-Hezbollah war, which saw Hezbollah fire approximately 4,000 rockets into Israel while Israeli forces bombed Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon. More than 1,125 Lebanese, mostly civilians, were killed, along with 119 Israeli soldiers and 45 civilians.

Despite the war’s devastation, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah survived, and Hezbollah emerged politically stronger. In 2009, Nasrallah issued a political manifesto that signaled Hezbollah’s desire to become more involved in Lebanese politics, although it maintained its tough stance against Israel and the US.

In addition to his military role, Nasrallah played a key part in integrating Hezbollah into Lebanese politics and society. Under his leadership, Hezbollah became a powerful political party, a major provider of health, education, and social services in Lebanon, and a central player in Iranian-backed efforts to project influence across the region. Hezbollah also became militarily stronger than Lebanon’s national army, securing a prominent role in national decision-making.

Hezbollah, under Nasrallah’s direction, extended its influence beyond Lebanon by aiding Iran’s regional allies. It helped train fighters from Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, and supported militias in Iraq and Yemen. Hezbollah’s fighters were also dispatched to Syria, where they played a critical role in helping Bashar al-Assad’s regime suppress a rebellion during the Syrian Civil War.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Lebanon Politics.

In recent years, Lebanon has faced a deepening economic crisis that triggered mass protests against the country’s political elite, accused of corruption and mismanagement. Nasrallah initially expressed sympathy for the protesters’ demands for reform but grew increasingly hostile as they began calling for a complete overhaul of the political system, which would have diminished Hezbollah’s influence.

On October 8, 2023, after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel, Hezbollah ramped up its military activities against Israel in support of Hamas. The group launched over 8,000 rockets into northern Israel and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, fired anti-tank missiles at Israeli armored vehicles, and attacked military targets with drones. Israel retaliated with airstrikes, artillery fire, and tank shelling on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. The skirmishes between Hezbollah and Israel escalated to unprecedented levels in the weeks following the attack.

In early 2024, Israel dramatically escalated its strikes on Hezbollah, with waves of bombing that killed nearly 800 people. On Saturday, Israeli military sources claimed that they had killed Nasrallah in an airstrike on Beirut, targeting Hezbollah’s command center. The airstrike reportedly leveled multiple high-rise buildings and killed several senior Hezbollah commanders, including Ali Karki, the Commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front. Nasrallah’s death remains unconfirmed, as Hezbollah has yet to comment on the strike.

Nasrallah’s leadership has solidified Hezbollah as a formidable military and political entity, with far-reaching influence in the Middle East. His close personal ties to Iran, his ability to inspire his followers, and his steadfast opposition to Israel have made him a revered figure among Hezbollah supporters and a central figure in the region’s ongoing power struggles.
