Presidency Urges Atiku to Retire, Ex-VP Criticizes Supreme Court Verdict

The Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have responded to the recent remarks made by Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, following the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election.

In his press conference in Abuja on Monday, Atiku expressed his disappointment in the Supreme Court’s judgment, alleging that it endorsed illegality. He described the decision as a blow to Nigeria.

The Presidency, in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, criticized Atiku’s approach to the election, stating that he entered the race “with a fragmented and tattered umbrella.” They argued that the PDP’s disunity and fragmentation hindered their chances of winning the election.

The Supreme Court recently ended the legal battle that lasted 171 days and resulted from Atiku’s challenge to Tinubu’s election victory. The court’s lead judgment, delivered by Justice Inyang Okoro, refused to consider the academic records of the President obtained from the Chicago State University, which Atiku sought to present as fresh evidence to support his allegation of certificate forgery against Tinubu.

In response, Atiku criticized the Supreme Court’s verdict, describing it as an endorsement of illegality and expressing his disappointment in the decision. He vowed to continue his political career and struggle for the rule of law.

Atiku also called for constitutional amendments to ensure that election litigation concludes before the winner’s inauguration, a six-year single term for the presidency, and a rotational presidency among Nigeria’s six zones.

The APC, represented by its National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, accused Atiku of being desperate and suffering from post-election trauma, stating that his actions and statements displayed a lack of understanding of the judicial process and the laws governing the electoral system.

The Chief Spokesman for the Obi-Datti Campaign Council, Yunusa Tanko, agreed with Atiku’s criticism of the Supreme Court and the electoral umpire, suggesting they were influenced by the presidency.

While the political landscape remains divided, Atiku remains committed to his political journey, while the APC and the Presidency have called on him to retire from the presidential race.

As the political discourse continues, Nigeria grapples with issues surrounding election processes, judiciary decisions, and the country’s future political landscape.

Influential Factors in the Naira’s Depreciation Against the US Dollar

Several factors contribute to the devaluation of the naira against the US dollar in Nigeria. These factors include:

    1. Fluctuating Oil Prices: Nigeria’s economy is highly dependent on oil exports. When global oil prices decline, it reduces the country’s revenue, foreign exchange reserves, and puts pressure on the naira’s value.
    2. Foreign Exchange Reserves: The depletion of Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves, often due to servicing external debt, can weaken the naira’s exchange rate.
    3. Exchange Rate Policies: The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) plays a vital role in setting exchange rate policies. Interventions to maintain an official exchange rate, especially when foreign reserves are low, can lead to devaluation.
    4. Inflation: High inflation erodes the purchasing power of the naira, making it less attractive to foreign investors and causing devaluation.
    5. Economic Uncertainty: Political instability, economic uncertainties, and security concerns can deter foreign investments, reducing foreign exchange inflow and leading to naira devaluation.
    6. Global Economic Factors: Events like the COVID-31 pandemic can have a significant impact. The pandemic disrupted global trade, led to a drop in oil prices, and subsequently affected Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings.
    7. Market Speculation: Speculative activities in the foreign exchange market can influence the naira’s value. Speculators betting on future devaluation can contribute to the naira’s decline.
    8. Balance of Trade: An unfavorable balance of trade, where imports significantly exceed exports, can strain the country’s foreign exchange reserves and put pressure on the naira’s value.
    9. Government Policies: Policies related to trade, foreign exchange, and economic management can affect the naira’s value. Decisions like fuel subsidy removal can impact inflation and, by extension, the exchange rate.
    10. Overall Economic Performance: Nigeria’s economic health, including GDP growth, employment rates, and overall economic stability, plays a role in determining the naira’s value in the international market.

These factors collectively contribute to the devaluation of the naira against the US dollar, shaping Nigeria’s exchange rate dynamics.

The exchange rate of the dollar to naira holds great significance as an economic indicator of Nigeria’s performance and stability. This rate fluctuates across different markets, including the CBN, banks, and the black market. While CBN and bank rates are officially regulated, the black market rate is determined by market forces.

President Bola Tinubu is set to present over N2 trillion naira as a supplementary budget to the National Assembly.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved the submission of the supplementary budget at its weekly meeting held today at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Recall that the federal government proposed N26 trillion as the 2024 budget to be submitted to the National Assembly before December 31, 2023.

The Minister of Planning and Budget, Atiku Bagudu, made the budget proposal known at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held last week Monday.

Bagudu said the council has approved the 2024-2025 medium-term expenditure framework (MTEF) and fiscal strategy papers (FSP).

He added that the executive is required by the Fiscal Responsibility Act to present to the national assembly ahead of a budget presentation, a document which will provide the medium-term economic outlook for the economy.

The minister said FEC made assumptions about the reference price for crude oil which is at $73.96 per barrel as well as an exchange rate of N700.

    2. ‘All Is Not Well With Supreme Court’ – Atiku Reacts To Allegations Made By Justice Dattijo

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, said all is not well with the country’s highest court.

Addressing a World Press Conference in Abuja on Monday, Atiku said the recent comments made by the retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Musa Dattijo Muhammad, is a confirmation that something is wrong with the apex court.

The former Vice President said the apex court and the judiciary must never lend themselves to politicization as it is currently the norm with nearly every institution in the country.

Atiku said the allegations made by the retired Justice, who had meritoriously served for more than four decades, should not be swept under the carpet.

    3. I Have Full Confidence In My Chief Of Staff – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says he has full confidence in the integrity of his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Tinubu stated this on Monday while presiding over the fourth Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of his administration at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The President admitted that his administration will make mistakes, noting that he is ready to take responsibility for the mistakes made.

President Tinubu, therefore, stated that all campaigns of calumny against the former Speaker of the House of Representatives must stop immediately.

    4. Taiwo Oyedele Reveals How Tinubu Govt Plans To Make One Dollar Exchange For N650 To N750 Before End Of 2023

The chairman of the presidential committee on fiscal policy and tax reforms, Taiwo Oyedele has revealed that the federal government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu is working on achieving a fair price in the exchange of the dollar to the naira before the end of 2023.

According to him, the government hopes to see a “fair price” for the dollar at “N650 to N750” before the end of the current year.

Speaking with Bloomberg on Monday where he explained how the government intends to achieve this, Oyedele said the government intends to introduce new foreign exchange rules, including a crackdown on illicit currency trading.

According to him, the new rules and reforms are expected to result in the naira closing the gap with the unofficial rate and reaching a fair price.

Oyedele added that part of the rules and measures the government is planning is to clear a backlog of dollar demand estimated at about $6.7 billion, bolster the naira forward market, and set transparent rules for the operations of the official market.

In his view, the new measures would give a new lease of life to all legitimate foreign exchange transactions while stifling the illicit “black market” for foreign currency.

    5. ‘6-year Single Term, 50% Of Votes, Rotational Presidency, Others’ – Atiku Makes Recommendations Ahead Of 2027 Elections

He said the proposals and recommendations should “prevent any court or tribunal from hiding behind technicalities and legal sophistry to affirm electoral heists and undermine the will of the people.”

According to him, the recommendations are: electronic voting and electronic collation of results must be made mandatory, all litigation arising from a disputed election must be concluded before the inauguration of a winner, the requirement to declare a candidate winner of a presidential election must be moved to 50% +1 of the valid votes cast, a single six-year term for Presidents to be rotated among the six geo-political zones, INEC should be the one to verify the certificates of candidates and not opposition candidates, and amendment of the Electoral Act.

The Supreme Court had on Thursday, October 26, dismissed the appeal filed by Atiku and the PDP for lack of merit and there are uncertainties about the PDP chieftain contesting the 2027 elections by which time he would be 81.

As part of his speech on Monday, Atiku said while the struggle will continue to deepen Nigeria’s democracy and political institutions, the struggle will now be led by the younger generation.

Edison Ehie: Tensions Rise as Rivers House Leader Loyal to Sim Fubara, Suspended Amid Impeachment Plot

The move has sent shockwaves through the state’s political landscape, marking the first public indication that Governor Fubara and his once-ally, Nyesom Wike, the former governor who is now the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, are no longer on good terms.

Ehie Edison, a prominent lawmaker, announced that he had been named as Speaker Amaewhule’s replacement. However, the legality of this action is still being questioned, with differing accounts of the number of lawmakers present during the purported impeachment.

According to Mr. Edison, 26 out of 32 members cast their votes in his favor, signaling strong support from his colleagues.

Some lawmakers have told reporters that only 11 members were present at the parliament when the impeachment and replacement occurred on Monday. This discrepancy has raised questions about the legitimacy of the process.

The situation is further complicated by reports of 15 members being suspended, effectively allowing the remaining 11 members to form the required two-thirds quorum to remove the Speaker and conduct legislative business.

Big Win for Nigerian President as FBI Announces It Will No Longer Release Tinubu’s Alleged Criminal Records; Gives Reasons

FBI Withdraws Plans to Release Bola Tinubu’s Records, Citing Diplomatic Concerns.

In an unexpected turn of events, the U.S Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has decided to withhold the release of documents concerning Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s alleged criminal activities in the United States. This decision comes amid concerns that the disclosure of these records could strain diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the United States.

Earlier, the FBI, in conjunction with five other federal agencies, had agreed to release documents related to Tinubu’s alleged criminal activities during his time in the United States. These documents were expected to shed light on the controversial figure’s past.

However, the FBI’s change of heart appears to be linked to a recent Supreme Court ruling that confirmed Tinubu as the duly elected President of Nigeria. Sources within Washington DC have suggested that the Joe Biden administration may not be comfortable with the release of potentially incriminating documents, as it could jeopardize U.S. interests in Nigeria and the broader West African region.

The decision has raised questions about the nature of these documents and what they may reveal about Tinubu’s past. It also underscores the delicate balance between the pursuit of justice and maintaining international relations. For now, the FBI will only release documents that do not implicate Tinubu in any criminal activities in the U.S.

Tinubu, a prominent Nigerian political figure, has long been a subject of controversy and scrutiny. The decision to withhold certain records related to his time in the United States adds another layer of complexity to his already enigmatic public profile.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether the withheld documents will ever see the light of day and what potential consequences this may have for both Tinubu and diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the United States.

“SPRF’s Ambitious Plan to Reward Sporting Youths

The Sports Performance Reward Fund (SPRF) has recently made headlines by announcing an impressive commitment to reward athletes who achieve success on the international stage. With a total investment of ten billion naira, SPRF intends to incentivize private sector involvement in sports, thereby fostering a culture of private sector-led sports in Nigeria. This ambitious initiative aspires to elevate Nigeria as a dominant sports power in the upcoming three Olympic circles. In this article, we delve deeper into SPRF’s goals and the potential impact on Nigerian sports.

SPRF A New Paradigm In Sports Reward Systems

SPRF is setting a new precedent by introducing substantial financial incentives for Nigerian athletes who excel at the highest levels of international competition. The primary goal of this initiative is to stimulate interest from the private sector, boost investments in sports, and ultimately transform Nigeria into a global sports powerhouse.

President of SPRF, Musa Kida, emphasized that the funds for this ambitious project will be raised from both the private and public sectors, as well as from individuals and organizations, both domestically and abroad. The prospect of such substantial rewards could catalyze interest and investment in the sporting industry.

SPRF Driving Economic Empowerment and Youth Engagement

As Musa Kida pointed out, the sports industry ranks as the second-largest platform for empowerment, employment, and engagement worldwide, just behind information technology. This distinction highlights the enormous potential that the sports sector holds for creating jobs and generating wealth in Nigeria. With a wealth of sporting talent and a pressing issue of youth unemployment, the SPRF initiative could serve as a beacon of hope for the nation’s youth.

The initiative not only promises substantial rewards for athletes but also offers opportunities for various sectors within the sports industry. Workers in gyms and athletics clubs stand to gain from increased employment opportunities. Sports media and talent scouts could identify potential stars and recommend them to investors, creating marketing and agency opportunities in the process. The SPRF seeks to unlock the potential at every stage of the sports value chain, attracting the attention of the business world and fostering a sense of hope for rewards following investments of time, energy, and finance.

    Reward Structure and Transparency:
The proposed reward structure is comprehensive, covering various international competitions. For athletes who achieve podium success at the Olympics, gold medalists will receive N10 million, silver medalists N7.5 million, and bronze medalists N5 million. Similarly, at the Commonwealth Games, gold medalists are set to receive N5 million, silver medalists N3 million, and bronze medalists N2 million. Finally, the All Africa Games will offer gold medalists N3 million, silver medalists N2 million, and bronze medalists N1 million.

Transparency is a fundamental aspect of the SPRF’s operation. Donations, contributions, and support are channeled through their website, ensuring full visibility to the public. Disbursements to athletes are also publicly accessible on the websiteensuringng a transparent and accountable process.

By attracting private sector interest, generating investment, and promoting a private sector-led sports culture, Nigeria aims to become a major force in global sports over the next three Olympic cycles. This initiative has the potential to not only elevate Nigeria’s sporting achievements but also drive economic empowerment, create employment opportunities, and instill hope in its talented youth. As the fund seeks to ensure that successful athletes are never left in poverty, it opens a new chapter in Nigeria’s sports history, one filled with promise and potential for all involved.

Breaking : Luis Rubiales Gets 3yrs Ban From Fifa

FIFA has taken decisive action by imposing a three-year ban on former RFEF president Luis Rubiales from all football-related activities, following a highly publicized incident involving a non-consensual kiss on Spain striker Jenni Hermoso in the aftermath of the FIFA Women’s World Cup victory.

The scandal unfolded when Luis Rubiales, then the president of the Spanish Football Association (RFEF), made headlines for his inappropriate behavior. This unfortunate incident led to his eventual resignation from the prestigious position in early September, as the severity of his actions came under scrutiny.

The situation escalated as Jenni Hermoso, the target of Rubiales’ unwanted advances, filed a legal complaint against him. In her complaint, she not only highlighted the non-consensual kiss but also pointed out Rubiales’ attempts to pressure her into making a statement that would alleviate the mounting criticism against him.

    Luis Rubiales Court Appearance

The legal implications of his actions became evident when Rubiales had to appear in court in Madrid to respond to allegations of sexual assault and coercion. The legal system was set in motion to address the serious misconduct that had taken place during a momentous sporting event.

Simultaneously, FIFA was not passive in addressing this issue. The FIFA Disciplinary Committee conducted its investigation, which ultimately resulted in the decision to ban Rubiales from football-related activities for three years. This penalty was imposed by “Article 13 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.”

In their official statement, FIFA emphasized their commitment to upholding the integrity of all individuals and maintaining standards of decency and respect. This move was seen as a firm stance against misconduct in the world of football and an affirmation of FIFA’s dedication to ensuring that such behavior is not tolerated.

    6. Global Economic Factors: Events like the COVID-30 pandemic can have a significant impact.

Nigerian Pastor Beaten Beyond Recognition Over Disappearance of Male Organ

Nigerian Pastor Beaten Mercilessly Over Missing Penis.

A shocking incident unfolded in the New Layout area of Kanshio, a suburb of Makurdi, when a young man’s claim of a stolen genital organ led to a vicious attack on a Pastor and an alleged church usher.

The incident, which occurred over the weekend, resulted in both victims being brutalized by an enraged mob.

According to an eyewitness, the ordeal began when a young man made a distressing accusation, alleging that another individual had snatched his genitals. The alarming cry for help attracted the attention of passers-by and neighbors who swiftly descended upon the accused, subjecting him to a brutal beating.

The eyewitness described the escalating situation: “We suspect that it was when he realized they might kill him that he told the mob that it was his Pastor who asked him to steal somebody’s penis and bring it to him. He was then asked to lead the mob to the Pastor’s House. When they got there, the Pastor was seized from his family and given the beating of his life.”

Both the young man and the Pastor narrowly escaped death due to the timely intervention of the police, who transported them to the ‘B Division’ Police Station. It was at the station that the truth came to light – the allegations were baseless, and no one had actually lost their genitals.

A video circulating on social media captured the Pastor appearing confused and helpless, while his alleged usher, who had been stripped naked, faced questioning by one of those who detained him.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident, deeming it a tragic turn of events. She explained, “Someone raised an alarm, and a group of youths who knew nothing about what happened began to torture innocent people. This is inhuman and condemnable.”

According to SP Anene, the young man’s initial alarm led to a cascade of violence. “The youth picked up the closest person and beat him up till he decided to admit and mention his Pastor as the person who sent him, with the hope that the Pastor would come and save him. The youth got the same pastor and beat him up as well.”

In the end, the police intervened to prevent further harm. The PPRO lamented the situation, stating, “It is too bad because there is no element of truth in this. Since the history of these allegations, it has never been proven, and the complainants are usually advised and told that nothing was wrong with them.”

As of now, no arrests have been made, but an ongoing investigation into the matter is underway. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers of baseless accusations and mob violence.

Tinubu is under investigation by the FBI and SSA for Forgery.; we will not congratulate him – NADECO

NADECO USA WILL NOT CONGRATULATE PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU

Who Will Congratulate a Man Under Investigation by The FBI & the Social Security Administration for Forgery.

Prejudice apart and without mincing words, the decision of the Supreme Court to uphold the verdict of the appellate court and confirm the election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President, will not affect the resolution of NADECO USA to unravel the complexities and mysteries behind the alleged Certificate forgery.

U.S. Court Denies Move to Fast-Track Release of Tinubu’s Records by FBI and CIA

Consequent upon the World Press Conference that was held inside the historic Chicago City Hall on the 23rd of October, 2023, wherein, we issued a strongly worded statement and in light of the fact that there are pending investigations and legal issues that may evolve from the allegation; the NADECO USA will not congratulate Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President because, the issues have to be properly investigated by different regulatory bodies like the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Social Security

Administration (SSA). Moreover, this is not a trivial matter because it borders on national and global security and therefore, such an issue cannot be treated with kids gloves or swept under the carpet.

We recall that this issue of the alleged forged certificate was spearheaded by a legal luminary, the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) of blessed memory, 24 years ago and was stalled by the immunity clause enjoyed by the governors in Nigeria, against prosecution. Today, it still remains “a smoking gun” in our body politics and it can only be put to final rest by genuine

justice, fairness and transparency. The big question is; if the immunity clause could not put it to rest twenty-four years ago, today, that same immunity will not put it to rest except justice and fairness.

Lastly, it is very important to intimate the general public that, against the back drop of evil activities of soothsayers, propagandists, fifth columnists and the imaginary “FAKE NADECO” group in Nigeria (government sponsored NADECO), NADECO USA is registered and incorporated in United States of America and it is committed to deepening democracy and good governance in Nigeria.

We also want to reiterate like we have done in some of our previous press releases that, NADECO USA is the offshoot of NADECO that was established by the likes of Pa. Abraham Adesanya, Dan Suleiman, Pa. Alfred Rewane, Ndubiisi Kalu, Ebitu Ukiwe, Edwin Clark, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Pa. Adekunle Ajasin, Dr. Beko Ransome Kuti and a host of others.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE: THE GENERAL PUBLIC SHOULD DISREGARD AND DISPEL

ANY PURPORTED STATEMENT STATING THAT NADECO HAS CONGRATULATED PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU.

THIS IS A LIE FROM THE PIT OF HELL!

    Thank you.

    SOLIDARITY FOREVER!

    WE MOVE.

Tinubu is under investigation by the FBI and SSA; we will not congratulate him - NADECO."

A fresh crisis has erupted within the Rivers State House of Assembly as speculations about an impending impeachment procedure against the state Governor, Sim Fubara, continue to circulate. The House took a significant step on Monday by removing its leader, Edison Ehie.

Ehie was removed from his position as House Leader over allegations that he oversaw the burning of the Assembly Complex on Sunday night.

Under the leadership of Speaker Martin Amaewhule, the Assembly also served an impeachment notice on the governor. Surprisingly, Governor Fubara made an appearance at the Assembly Complex amidst these developments.

However, they demonstrated their superiority against a Manchester United side struggling with both a series of narrow wins and a string of injuries. The match could have seen an even more lopsided scoreline if not for the impressive performance of United’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana, who made a series of fine saves to prevent further damage.

Erling Haaland and Phil Foden had history against Manchester United, as both players had scored hat-tricks in a 6-3 victory against the same opponents a year prior. This time, Haaland opened the scoring from the penalty spot. The decision to award the penalty came after Rasmus Hojlund’s foul on Rodri inside the box, a moment that divided opinions. While some pundits on Sky Sports described it as a “soft” decision, former referee Mike Dean was convinced that it was a “clear holding offense.”

Erling Haaland wasn’t finished with just one goal; he added a second with a powerful header after the halftime break, marking his 11th goal of the season. It was a near-repeat of a chance at the end of the first half, which Onana had miraculously stopped. This time, however, Erling Haaland left the goalkeeper with no chance.

Onana continued to deny Haaland a third goal, making a crucial save in a one-on-one situation. Instead of going for goal again, Haaland unselfishly squared the ball for Phil Foden, who tapped it into the net for an easy finish, putting City comfortably out of reach.

This victory marked City’s sixth win in their last eight derbies against Manchester United across all competitions. They were rarely troubled in this encounter, with Manchester United only managing a first-half attempt from Scott McTominay, which forced City’s goalkeeper, Ederson, to make a save, and a second-half chance from Marcus Rashford, which went wide. City’s head coach, Pep Guardiola, who was overseeing his 20th Manchester derby, had mastered this matchup, guiding his team to another impressive win against their cross-town rivals.
