    • Npower Batch C2 payment to commence January 2023.

In Today’s Latest Npower News For Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023, we would like to wish all Npower beneficiaries, both those who have left and those who are still serving, a very happy new year.

We are all aware that 2022 was a difficult year for Npower recipients because certain expectations were not met. Despite this, we all survived, and we are fortunate to witness the year 2023. All glory to God!

The year 2023 is viewed as crucial not only for Npower recipients, but also for all Nigerians, as it will determine the future of the Npower programme and Nigeria’s future.

Some Npower recipients who expressed interest in serving as Adhoc staff for the 2023 and NPC 2023 censuses will be recruited to participate in these special events that will shape the face of Nigeria, if selected.

As you are all aware, the Npower Programme is a youth empowerment initiative designed to equip young Nigerians with work experience and entrepreneurial skills. Participation in these additional responsibilities can therefore be advantageous for a beneficiary.

Since there will be elections in 2023 that will result in a leadership change, the new leadership will determine the future of the Npower programme. We believe that the approval of the NSIP bill offers hope for the continuation of the Npower Program.

In addition, as we enter the year 2023, the management of the Npower programme will address the program’s beneficiaries in a timely manner regarding issues pertaining to the payment of stipends. Therefore, keep watch

You are encouraged to stay informed about the Npower Programme via the Nasims self-service portal and the official Npower social media channels.

The Npower deployment for N-Power batch C2 is still ongoing. The deployment is still ongoing. If you are chosen as a beneficiary but have not yet been deployed, you will be sent to your primary assignment.

But for the time being, all we can tell you is to keep an eye on the payroll tab for changes; once the payroll payment update appears on the self-service dashboard, you will know it is time.

To answer the question that some batch C1 beneficiaries have about whether there will be Npower September stipend payments for batch C1 beneficiaries, all we can say for the time being is to stay updated with Npower official’s news via their social communication platforms.

Christmas Celebration: Npower Batch C2 Beneficiaries Hopes For First Stipends Payment

As the month of December draws to a close, N-Power batch C stream 2 volunteers are patiently awaiting their first stipend payment to help them celebrate the holidays and the new year.

With only a few days remaining before the new year, it remains unclear whether payment will be made before the 31st of December 2022, when Npower beneficiaries will celebrate New year.

If the first stipend payment for Npower batch C stream 2 recipients is not made by the end of December 2022, it will be made after the holiday season, as the ministry of humanitarian affairs released a publication this week regarding their plans for the Npower Programme.

Will Npower recipients celebrate the Christmas and New year holidays differently this year compared to previous years when Npower payments were delayed? Regarding the payment of stipends, all eyes and ears are on the ground, awaiting positive news.

Know that you can call the Npower care line to discuss your concerns, and that you can also continue the conversation on social media, as we hope that things will improve this year.

Therefore, let us wait and pray that the first payment for Npower batch C stream 2 will be made this December, based on logistical considerations, so that recipients can celebrate Christmas in style.

However, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas in advance.

Ikedi Ohakim finally Breaks Silence on convoy attack; death of four police officers

I thought I was dead, Ikedi Ohakim speaks on convoy attack; death of four police officers

Ikedi Ohakim, a former governor of Imo State, has spoken out about the shooting and deaths of four police officers who were in his convoy on Monday after being attacked by gunmen.

When gunmen opened fire on the former governor’s vehicle in Imo State’s Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, he narrowly avoided death.

After the unpleasant incident, Ohakim described his ordeal and revealed that his assailants were professionals, not novices.

Between Isiala Mbano and Ehime Mbano, we were travelling. We were stopped by these people in Umualumaku.

“They attacked us from behind and kept opening fire on our cars. When I saw my son and daughter, I initially believed I had passed away.

“The armoured car was what kept me alive. It is only through God’s special grace and my bulletproof car that I am still alive today.

But sadly for me, four of our boys, including the driver, were killed. It is true that we lost four of the boys, and I am heartbroken. How is that possible? What wrongdoing did they do?

Ohakim claimed that the attackers pursued his car even after his own driver was able to flee the scene.

“They chased after us and kept shooting at our tyres. Fortunately, the car has run-flat tyres, which allow you to keep driving even after a puncture. So the car kept moving even when they fired at the tyres in an effort to stop us. If the car had stopped and they had been regular tyres, they would have cornered and killed us.

Also Read: Nigerian Newspapers Today January 3, 2023 – NewsOnline Nigeria

    “However, the tyres held up until we arrived home. Before arriving home, we spent about 20 minutes driving. The saving grace was that;

The driver, who displayed exceptional driving skills, continued to manoeuvre until he lost them at a fork in the road. He then turned right, and because they did not know where we were going, they took the opposite direction on the road to Umuahia.

“We then made a U-turn and returned to my house. When the Imo Government House sent reinforcements from Owerri with the bodies of my security personnel, we were present.

They were not amateurs, according to Ohakim, who claimed to have seen the attackers.

I must say that this issue transcends the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). These people are trained professionals. They are not typical citizens. They were operating a brand-new BMW 5-series in the colour blue.

“I have no idea what this is about. It is getting worse. Will they not return home again? Are we going to remain in Owerri and Abuja indefinitely without returning to our hometowns? the previous governor

While analyzing the letter which contained Obasanjo’s endorsement of Peter Obi, Tanko noted that what really captured his attention is the fact that the letter was addressed to Nigerians, particularly, Nigerian youths.

He added that as a former leader, Obasanjo has assessed the track records of the presidential candidates and found Peter Obi the best among them considering what he did in Anambra State as Governor.

A PDP member who is also a member of the Strategic Communication Directorate of the People’s Democratic Party Campaign Council, Anthony Ehilebo who also spoke during the program claimed that Obasanjo does not have electoral value in Nigeria.

He further questioned Peter Obi’s proposed ability to move Nigeria from a consumption economy to a productive economy whereas he himself is a consumption person. According to to him, Peter Obi makes his money by importing goods to Nigeria which contributes to the reduction in Nigeria’s GDP.

Kehinde Bamgbetan, Spokesperson of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council who also spoke during the program noted that the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu had visited Olusegun Obasanjo to show that he is not against him.

Bamgbetan referred to Tinubu’s visit to Obasanjo as diplomacy with elder statesmen. He however noted that the visit does not mean that he does not know the capacity of the person he went to visit.

Obi: Obasanjo suffers another major backlash over LP candidate endorsement

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria, has experienced yet another backlash as a result of his endorsement of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Dr. Usman Bugaje and Professor Bolaji Akinyemi said Obasanjo’s support of Peter Obi was incorrect on Sunday, January 1 in an interview with newsmen.

Remember that former president Olusegun Obasanjo endorsed Peter Obi of the Labour Party for president in his new year’s message.

Akinyemi, who harshly criticized Obasanjo, referred to him as the root of Nigeria’s problems.

“When you’ve completed your term as president, go home, keep quiet, and emulate Generals Gowon and Abdulsalami.

“You have served your term or completed your innings. I’ll let you guys go. It’s hard for me to accept that you caused problems for us before returning to claim that you can solve them.

A former aide to Baba Iyabo, as he is affectionately known, named Dr. Bugaje, also criticized his support for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

The former lawmaker claimed he was unable to formulate the standards the former President used to decide whether to support Obi’s presidential campaign.

Dr. Bugaje advised Nigerians to consider Obasanjo’s background as well as his support for Peter Obi.

His record (that of Obasanjo) “doesn’t encourage me to take whatever he says objectively,” he declared. When he attempted to amend the constitution to prolong his term, I was a member of the National Assembly.

In that regard, we must oppose him. I won’t find him to be someone I can trust for what he says. He is free to say whatever he wants. Helping voters make the right choice is what we need to do.

Ajah Police Officers caught drinking on duty, abandon work

Regular alcohol abuse by police officers assigned to the Ajiwe Police Division in Ajah, Lagos State, may be to blame for the rise in the number of extrajudicial killings carried out by officers from the station.

The trend according to investigation was also noticed by locals and business owners.

They claim that while on duty and during patrol, the police officers are constantly under the influence of alcohol.

They claimed that this may have been the cause of the recent murder of Bolanle Raheem, a pregnant lawyer, by station-affiliated Assistant Superintendent of Police Drambi Vandi.

Gafaru Buraimoh, a resident who was on his way to buy fuel, was also shot dead by an inspector from the same division, Imeh Johnson, two weeks prior.

Some of the officers were grouped in pairs outside the police station when our correspondent arrived on Tuesday around 10am.

A closer look showed that some of them were drinking alcohol from sachets while carrying large weapons.

One of the two officers was observed with a glass cup of beer, which he sipped periodically as he sat close to a barbershop attached to a building beside the station.

A police officer with a pistol strapped to his waist was observed drinking from a can as another group of officers took cover underneath a shed next to the station.

While some of the vendors near the police station put some alcoholic beverages within the reach of the officers, other officers avoided prying eyes by walking a distance to patronize other vendors.

After nearly an hour of watching this, a fair-looking officer who had been seen earlier pacing the station’s hallway beckoned to our reporter.

He was obviously intoxicated because his body reeked of alcohol when you were close to him.

The policeman, who sounded incoherent, asked for N200 while the reporter assumed he was about to be questioned about his presence near the police station.

The reporter gave him N1,000 in anticipation of his balance out of curiosity.

The officer took him to a vendor right away, bought a sachet of alcohol, and downed it while the vendor gave him the rest of the money.

This online newspaper also discovered that the police frequently visited some alcohol vendors who were located behind a car park underneath the Ajah Bridge, where Raheem was fatally shot.

When some police officers arrived to serve a female customer who had been spotted at a corner under the bridge, our correspondent, who had visited the location and interacted with some of the street kids, watched as they were hailed by the children.

Soliu Adekanmbi, a local, claimed that the officers were well-known for abusing alcohol in public.

The officers carry out their duties as they see fit, and nobody checks them, he claimed. It appears that no one is able to confront them. While on duty, the majority of them always have alcohol packs with them. They consume them while wearing uniforms here beneath the bridge. Everyone is aware of it, but because the police have taken no action, nobody can speak out.

Our correspondent also learned that the majority of the police officers had lived in the area for a considerable amount of time and had resisted being transferred.

Due to the sensitive nature of the subject, the chairman of a community development association spoke on the condition of anonymity. He claimed that this had contributed to their excesses in the neighborhood.

“The majority of the police officers have made this community their permanent home,” he said. The majority of them progress up the ranks to retire here. They have gotten out of control as a result.
