Ex-Militant Leaders Endorse Atiku As Their Preferred Presidential Candidate, Give Reasons

Former militant leaders have endorsed Atiku Abubakar as their preferred presidential candidate, Ejesgist.ng reports

Former Niger Delta militant commanders have backed Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party as their preferred presidential for the 2023 presidential election.

Wike ridicules Atiku over Obasanjo’s endorsement of Obi, use strong words

The revelation was made on Tuesday after a brainstorming session by the former militant leaders.

Members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Dreams of Niger Deltans (MADND) and former warlords of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta conducted the strategic meeting that resulted in the endorsement (MEND).

The endorsement of Atiku by the ex-militants was contained in a communique signed by Gen. Josiah Oyakonghan a.k.a Commander Oyimi, Chairman (MADND), Sokere Ekpos, Secretary General (MADND) and Freeborn Ochuko alias Pressure, PRO (MADND) in Warri, Delta State.

Okowa Speaks On PDP Sacking Iyorchia Ayu

    The Communique read in part;

“In our meeting, held today, 3rd of January, 2023, as an executive and members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Dreams of Niger Deltans (MADND) and Former Warlords of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), met to review the political situation in the nation generally and focused on the issues that predicated our hitherto agitations such as resource control, restructuring the polity, political inclusion, economic development as well as environmental challenges. Rising from the meeting, we agreed that:

“Regrettably there is no tenable progress done to addressing our agitations; hence, we unanimously agreed to work for a President who has shown commitment to these issues via his manifesto.

“As a result of this, we, therefore, endorsed the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, H.E. Atiku Abubakar, who had shown more readiness to the plights and challenges of Nigeria, particularly the Niger Delta region. A region that has been neglected morally and remains economically poor, despite, contributing huge resources to Nigeria’s economy.

Atiku May Inherit Buhari’s Northern Support

One of our criteria reached in endorsing, Atiku Abubakar, is that amongst all Presidential candidates, he was the first to pick a running mate in person of H.E. Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Governor of Delta State; while others were struggling to pick a running mate, ended up submitting placeholders as running mates, a nomenclature that is nonexistent and an alien to the laws of our land.

“And more importantly a representation of lack of incompetence from them to hit the ground running even if they become President because as the last time they changed their placeholders, to legal running mates; they were still struggling with their manifestos.

BREAKING: 11 APC Governors, 37 Senators, 15 Reps Working For Atiku

“On the other hand, Atiku Abubakar immediately nominated a running mate, with a clear document that speaks or provides solutions to the myriads of challenges in Nigeria through his policy thrust, or manifesto, titled: ‘My Covenant With Nigerians.’

“Nigeria is at a crossroads; our country is on a precipice: today Nigeria is not working, and this has heightened a series of agitations, existential threats and tensions.

The issues that brought the Niger Delta agitation of which we were an integral part before former President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, proclaimed a presidential pardon, had still not been addressed.

BREAKING: Atiku Meets Three APC Governors In Dubai, Plots To Manipulate BVAS – Kassim Alleges

“Issues about environmental degradation, political inclusion, resource control, restructuring as well as the economic development of the region are conspicuously ignored by politicians.

“In all these, one candidate amongst other candidates has proposed devolution of power, a restructuring that will put the Niger Delta into the path of economic development and political inclusion.

“Indeed, Atiku has been advocating for restructuring and devolution of power far back in 2004, when it was very unpopular and not politically expedient for him to do so. And perhaps, this is something all Nigerians have been clamouring for for a long time, therefore, it is time to elect a president who is detribalized and has got the wherewithal and political will to achieve something all Nigerians want desperately.

In addition, Atiku amongst the other candidates was still the first to flag off his campaigns whilst others were still battling on how to kickstart their campaigns.

“These are symbolic signs that Atiku Abubakar has the wealth of experience in governance and the ability to traverse every part of the country to unite Nigerians and entrench a national government of unity.

“Nigerians can’t afford to trust the leadership of our land to people who are flagrantly disobeying the laws of the land whose actions are in breach of the electoral act. As Nigerians, we should elect someone who has shown readiness.

“It is therefore on this premise we use this medium to appeal to all Nigerians especially the Niger Deltans, Yorubas, Igbos and every other region that has been agitating for restructuring to support Atiku Abubakar and vote for him to address our needs.

“Nigeria was due for restructuring and Atiku Abubakar is fully ready to restructure Nigeria.”

ASUU protests as FG withholds union dues

This online newspaper has learned that the Federal Government failed to deposit the check-off dues it withheld from university lecturers’ November 2022 salaries into the account of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

    What is ASUU Check-off Due

The amount deducted from an employee’s pay in exchange for their membership in a union or other group that advocates for workers in a given sector is known as a check-off due.

In an interview with our correspondent in Abuja, Prof. Gbolahan Bolarin, the head of the ASUU chapter at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, confirmed that the government had not sent the check-off dues for November.

Despite the pro-rata salaries that were paid for the month of November, Bolarin stated, “The problem now is that the account of ASUU was not credited.

Those who received their pay slips noticed that check-off dues and cooperative dues were deducted.

“The government granted credit to the cooperatives but not to ASUU. Considering that you stated that you paid us pro rata, where did the check-off and cooperative dues come from?

Why then was not ASUU’s account credited despite the fact that the check-off dues were taken out? You failed to credit the union after deducting union dues from the source.

FG explains it’s Reason for withholding ASUU union dues.

In an interview with our correspondent, the Ministry of Labour and Employment’s spokesperson, Olajide Oshundun, defended the government’s choice regarding the check-off fees.

Oshundun stated, “The Trade Union Act contains a constitutional provision (Section 37, Subsection 1) stating that the Academic union must annually render an account of money remitted to the body.

Each month, ASUU receives a deduction from each member’s dues to fund the operation of their secretariat.

“They are also required to submit an audited report of this money annually, but ASUU failed to do so for four straight years.

The audited report of funds collected for the past four years has not been submitted, the ministry wrote to ASUU to inquire as to why.

After receiving that letter, ASUU chose not to respond. They did not even acknowledge receiving the letter in writing. ASUU was then sent a letter of reminder, which was also ignored.

“Then the ministry decided that the Academic Staff Union of Universities should not receive the check-off amount owed that had been withheld by IPPIS for November.

The money held by IPPIS will therefore be released to them once they respond and justify how they spent the released funds.

Bolarin, however, criticised the ministry’s stance regarding the audit report.

He insisted that the union turn in the requested report.

  • Peter Obi: IPOB Fingers LP presidential candidate for having a hand in Kanu’s Continued Detention, Makes Strong Revelation

Peter Obi: IPOB Fingers LP presidential candidate for having a hand in Kanu’s Continued Detention, Makes Strong Revelation

Biafra group accuses Peter Obi of having hand in Nnamdi Kanu’s continued detention

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has been accused by the intelligence network of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB) of being directly responsible for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s continued detention at the Directorate of State Services (DSS) facilities in Abuja.

According to an expert in intelligence gathering, Kanu and Obi may have made a deal to keep him imprisoned until after the election.

Read Also: Peter Obi Presidency Strengthened as another Political Bigwig, South- South Leader Endorses him

If Kanu were to be released before the election, he might declare a sit-at-home in the Southeast zone on election day, which would reduce Obi’s anticipated large number of votes from the area, which is his stronghold.

Emma Powerful, the IPoB’s media and publicity secretary, quickly responded by claiming that IPoB had no business meddling in the election of the Republic of Nigeria.

Powerful asserts that “IPoB has absolutely no interest in the election and we have no interest in any candidate. We have repeatedly stated that regardless of Nnamdi Kanu’s release from prison, IPoB will not take part in the election or obstruct voters by ordering a sit-at-home boycott.

“Even though IPoB has nothing to do with the election, our members will not vote, but we will not stop anyone from voting, and we will not coerce anyone into doing so either.

Anyone who shows up on election day to intimidate or prevent people from voting is an enemy of Biafra.

Powerful stated: “We will set machinery in motion and if it turns out that he has hand in Kanu’s continued illegal detention, we will pay him back in his own coin.”

This was in response to the question of whether Peter Obi has any involvement in the ongoing illegal detention of our leader, Kanu.

The source with knowledge of the matter had revealed that the delusional quest for an Igbo-speaking president of Nigeria in the upcoming general elections on February 25, 2023, has already ensnared a large number of victims and is still accruing more.

Sadly, the freedom of Kanu, the Afarukwu Ibeku crown prince who also serves as the leader of IPOB, has been sacrificed on the altar of Obi’s ambition to the point that Obi is secretly behind his continued illegal detention, according to the intelligent source, which is coming from an insider within the pro-Biafra group, IPoB.

The fear of Mr. Peter Obi and the West is “not unconnected with Obi’s perceived likely negative effect the release of the Biafran leader could have on his chances in the Southeast, where he hopes to amass votes,” the IPoB’s insider source claims.

“The people of the former breakaway region of Biafra, the Igbos, have continued to be agitated by the desire of the Igbos to produce a Nigerian President amidst the unwritten post-civil war policies designed to keep the Igbos in check and to deny them a shot at the highest position in the land since after the fratricidal civil war that ended on January 15, 1970.”

The source went on to say that “Obi’s imprimatur in the entire saga is becoming evident” and that “the Labour Party Presidential candidate is the real reason the Department of State Service, DSS, and the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, have refused to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as ordered by the Court of Appeal since last August.”

The source recalled that on Sunday, June 18, 2006, Obi, an Igbo apologist, imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Onitsha, the commercial centre of the South East zone, as part of measures to contain activities of suspected Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, members. Obi also reportedly ordered shoot-at-sight, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds

According to recent events, “Mr. Peter Obi has continued to be concerned about the possibility of an election boycott if Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is released and the consequences of its attendant massive compliance in the Southeast region, which remains the strongest base where he hopes to get bulk votes.”

A bitter test has been left by the recent revelation, which the source claimed was confirmed by intelligence gathering and their spies inside the Secret Service, as Obi’s overall ambition points to his avarice and a strong disdain for Biafra and the clamour for its actualization as is being championed by Kanu.

The public is shocked that Obi has not, as ordered by the Court of Appeal four months ago, issued a statement calling for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s release or paid a solidarity visit to Kanu. The source claimed that the behaviour was typical of both a traitor and an Oboteman.

Wike – OBJ endorsement of Obi: I’m worried for PDP

The endorsement of Peter Obi of the Labour Party for the 2023 presidential election by the late President Olusegun Obasanjo, according to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, raises concerns for the PDP’s future.

On Tuesday, Wike made this statement at the official start of work on the Mgbuodohia Road in Rumuolumene, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.

Every PDP supporter should be concerned if Obasanjo chooses Obi over Atiku Abubakar, who served as his vice president for eight years.

I did not mean any harm, Wike said. Only as a prominent PDP member am I concerned. A man who cherishes PDP ought to be concerned.

“I was not making fun of anyone. I was only concerned. I asked God to permit Obasanjo to remain silent and avoid speaking. All I prayed was that, but my prayer was ineffective.

“I prayed that if this man says anything, it will implicate us because he worked with our presidential candidate and served as president for eight years under the People’s Democratic Party.

And according to the presidential council’s campaign, our candidate for president performed admirably over the course of eight years and has experience.

The governor questioned “What did I do? ” after receiving criticism for his position regarding the development. I took no action.

“All I did was voice my worry. It is up to you to reflect and determine what is fundamentally wrong if you care about this party.

“You are insulting me for telling the party that we should do something because I am worried and have expressed that concern.

They are unconcerned, but those of us who joined this party in 1998 have helped it survive to the present day by continuing to yell whenever we perceive danger.

Abuse on top of abuse will not change anything; on the contrary, it will only make things worse. Ask around and seek advice if you do not know something; people will assist you in finding a solution.

Nobody can evict the Integrity Group from the PDP home that we have constructed. We will all fight here.

“Therefore, if anyone believes that you can simply order people around from your home, they are mistaken. You will be crushed under the house. So, you ought to reconsider.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state was also written off by Wike, who claimed that the party’s soul and strength had left the carcass and that it could no longer count on the support of the local electorate.

Governor Wike specifically mentioned the amount of support that Chief Anele Orobule, a fervent supporter of the former governor Chibuike Amaechi, gave to the APC before he was exposed for broken promises.

He urged the residents of Rivers State to be cautious of Tonye Cole, the APC candidate for governor, claiming that Amaechi is fronting for Cole and that they have bad intentions for the state.

Over 2000 APC, ZLP Members Dump Tinubu, Defect To PDP

No fewer than two thousand members of the APC, ZLP and other party members have defected to the PDP, Ejesgist.ng reports.

It was moment of joy for PDP in Ijare Community today as it harvested over 2000 party members largely from APC and other political parties. The defectors heaved a sigh of relief and also expressed their innermost joy as they bade bye bye to APC and with songs heralding their returning to PDP.

Welcoming the decampees to PDP, Ondo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Fatai Adams told them that there is no founder or joiner in the PDP stressing that their work will determine their relevance and status within the party.

“We don’t have founders or joiners in our party. What we consider is the value you add to the party. New comers will be considered above old ones if they impact the party, if they add more value than the old members. So add value and you will be glad you did.” The State Chairman said.

Speaking further, Hon Fatai Adams admonished the people not fall for the ethnicity card being played and so, go for the PDP Presidential Candidate who is versed in governance at the federal level.

“Don’t fall for the ethnic card being played. Go for the man who understands governance at the federal level. Go for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and vote out APC who brought woes, agony and depression to Nigerians. Those who turned Lagos to their personal property cannot be trusted and must be utterly rejected. Vote Barr. Ife Adedipe as your next Senator in the central, vote Hon Festus Akingbaso and Pastor Bamidele Olubunmi Ayodele as your House of Reps member for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency and House of Assembly member for Ifedore State Constituency respectively.”

“To achieve this, get your voters cards ready, set up unit excos and continue with your unit meetings, intensify on house-to-house campaigns and win souls to the party. So also, identify the PDP logo on the ballots which is the *UMBRELLA* because candidates’ names will not be on ballots but the PDP logo. Vote and stand by it until the votes are counted and finally announced. By so doing, you would have contributed immensely to the rescuing of the country from the deep valley where APC has sunk the nation.”

“We must recover the nation from the hands of APC which made us lose the funfair, pomp and pageantry usually associated with the Christmas. Those who have destroyed our health system, education, economy, security must be kicked out of government and this we must do by our votes come February and March 2023.” The State Chairman emphasized.

Meanwhile, those who spoke on behalf of the new members, Messrs Famakinwa Busayo, Afolabi Rilwan and Mrs Abiodun Daramola expressed joy for discovering their way out of APC saying the party did not in any slightest way, mean well for the masses. They promised to show that politics is local and that their coming to PDP will surely add the expected value.

The occasion was graced by ifedore leaders ably led by their overall leader, Dr Lawrence Layiwola Ibukun, a former Accountant-General in Ondo State. The Central Senatorial Candidate, Ch. Ife Adedipe was also eminently represented by two political juggernauts; Hon. Ebenezer Omotayo Alabi, former State PDP Chairman and Engr. Afolabi Akinbowale ex- ALGON Chairman in Ondo State. A former House of Assembly aspirant in Ifedore Local Govt, Mr Falana Michael popularly known as Falas, was also present at the occasion.

APC in Cross River Should Be Prepared, Not To Be Overconfident — Prophet Joshua Iginla

Prophet Joshua Iginla has charged APC in Cross River, Kaduna, Benue, Plateau, Enugu and Abia States should be prepared and not be overconfident

Intercontinental Prophet, Joshua Iginla Reveals God’s mind on Tinubu, Wike, Peter obi, and others. As he released 2023 prophecies

Arguably, Prophet Joshua Iginla is an internationally acclaimed prophet who is gifted in speaking the mind of God.

Iginla, who is the shepherd in charge of Champions Royal Assembly, Abuja, has rolled out fresh prophetic insights into the year 2023 concerning Nigeria in particular and the world at large.

Calabar Carnival Tragedy: Ayade Lacks Empathy, Concern — Cross River PDP

In this prophetic release, he revealed the mind of God concerning the 2023 election in Nigeria, especially the political gladiators and other notable countries across the globe. Excerpts…

My spirit was worried in December, and the Holy Spirit took me on a journey in the spirit.

I was in a deep dream and an angel dragged me out in the dream and asked me to look up into the sky and when I did, I saw Information that looks like a moonlight and later look like a rainbow and saw an angel around the circle. I saw a mighty trumpet, and I was gripped with a terrible fear.

I saw a hand and knew someone was about to blow the trumpet. The angel spoke to me that the earth needs to cry for mercy because the end is here. The earth will continue to witness unforseen circumstances that will be mysterious. My first prophetic word is that the master is preparing to come back and take his own. The Lord will take some away earlier than expected. It’s not a storm or attack. He will visit the mighty of the mighty. It’s not rapture.

Mass Defection Rocks Governor Ben Ayade Home Town In Cross River As Thousands Dump APC For PDP

I saw two generals of the Gospel being taken home this year. It’s not an attack.

Globally, the church of God will wax stronger. There shall be revival of the word of truth in churches.

Their will be a new set of kingdom ministers, both males and females across the globe. He will raise unknown ministers whose rising will swallow others.

Politically, God will also raise up nobody’s that will swallow the bigger one’s.

For 2023, those of you following me from 2021, 2022, will attest to it that even before the primaries of the political parties, I said Wike is a factor, and Tinubu too is a major factor And you attest to what happened in 2022.

Celebrating the wonders of Jesus Christ at Christmas

We have to pray not to have unnecessary drag of delay of announcement of the election result.

Don’t misquote me. The ruling party should not be over courageous because I see a fight of two lions and a tiger, especially in the gubernatorial elections of some states. There will be a win and gain here and a lost there. Concerning the presidential election, I see the most criticised and hated candidate emerging winner under the permissive will of God.

    Don’t underestimate the Labour party

I will mention these states and won’t elaborate but we should just pray along as the election is under way- Kaduna state, Benue State, Plateau state, Enugu state, Abia State, Cross River and Oyo State. As the election goes, the parties holding those states should be prepared and not be overconfident so that we won’t have surprises.

Biafra, Oduduwa Republic will become reality – Popular Nigerian Prophet

States like Rivers, Lagos, i see those sitting on the seat retaining the seats.

After the election  we have to pray that Nigeria will not experience battles and tensions. We should pray that the outcome of the elections should go down well with the aggrieved ones should address it legitimately.

Let’s pray against fire outbreaks in major markets in Nigeria.

Peter Obi must work hard on his security as a person before and during the election.

2023 will be a turning point for Nigeria after the election. Contrary to the prophecies being given, Nigeria will gradually bounce back irrespective of the tensions that will come during and after the elections.

The new government that will come in will take drastic measures that will create tensions, but it will lead to sustainable economic growth that will shock us.

There will be great exposure of secret that this current government, which even Mr President might not know that his appointees have perpetrated. It’s going to be a mystery.

The CBN Governor should pray well because I see hard times are coming ahead of him.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be released, but he has to pray for his health. He has to pray even after his release…indeed the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. He must fight to stay alive and think about his health. He still has a purpose to fulfil.

The voice of the Igbo man will be heard sometime, somehow, on God’s own calendar some day.

The APC presidential candidate will suggest sensitive betrayal. It’s going to be a tough one, but it won’t change anything.

Overconfidence is dangerous at times. God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wisdom of the wise. Peter Obi is a man with a mysterious destiny, but a prophet is without honour except in his own kindred. Mighty betrayal will come from quarters he least expected. 2023 is a year of mystery. Those you despise might be your helpers, and those you are embracing might be the ones to betray you.

Governor Wike’s political destiny is not yet over. He will play a major political role in the destiny of this country. I am not saying this for enticement, but the star is on his head somehow. He should watch over his health too and avoid being poisoned. Like I said, Wike is a factor…

Even after election, the winners should pray to enjoy their health and not be travelling constantly abroad for medical attention.

Their is a spiritual curse on the seat of power of this country. There is a force that made men who have something tangible to do for this country to enter there and find it difficult to do anything.

Most African countries should pray against attacks on their democracy.

I see military interventions in most African counties between now and 2028. We should pray that our democracy should not be truncated.

More scandals will rock some pastors. Some will be self inflicted and some manipulated by the enemies.

Between 2023 to 2026 another kind of epidemic will surface but it won’t last. It will shake the system because they are signs of the end time.

There is a sensitive king in this country that needs prayers.

Let’s pray that the days of bomb blast won’t come back mist especially after the elections.

The G5 governors expecially those of them still contesting should pray well to pull through in their bid to serve this country politically . I am particular about one of them. Sadly, their will be a crack among the G5. They will fall apart and it will be due to external forces.

The political party this G5 will support will make a difference, don’t undermine it.

The president of Russia, Putin should pray concerning his health. I see a strong attack coming so that he won’t be a vegetable while still on the throne.

There will be relative peace between Russia and Ukraine this year. So many things will come to play this year and Ukraine will find back her life.

The Vatican, the Catholic should continue to pray for this great ministry. There is still another kind of attack of their sensitive leaders between 2023 and 2024.

South Africa- The 2024 election will be serious and tough. The person there will narrowly escape…Julius Malema will become the president one day because the hand of God is upon him.

There will be revival back in South African church and fesh fire will rekindle the glory. The load shedding will get worse but God’s hand is upon the country.

Zimbabwe- The gospel fire will be massive. The current president will go to the polls and sustain his seats. But we pray for the economy to grow stoenger under his watch.

Zambia- the president will continue to deliver his electoral promises, the economy will wax stronger but there are some mysterious enemies in the system who will want to thwart his plans. God will expose them to him. Please don’t forget those who Labour for you before you attain the seat of power.

South Sudan- it will wax stronger this year but their will be more battles on the economy but the Lord will sustain the country.

Like I said last years the president should continue to pray for his health so that people won’t be fighting over his seats even while he is still alive.

Kenya- The president of Kenya will deliver his electoral promises gradually but he should pray against civil unrest that can do alot of harm to his current gains and plans for the country. He must be prayerful and sensitive he won’t be poisoned and that he might finished well.

Uk- the new prime minister should pray too to finish his tenure. I see another shaking. UK should pray against senseless killing.

Gabon- the president should be prayerful. God is the giver of life and will keep him in good health.

Let’s pray for the month of July, August till October of this year for the country of Gabon.

Like I said between 2023-2027 in Nigeria many political cabals, strong men who are holding down this country will be called home. Some will be very sick, some will lose interest in politics,, others will retire or give way to others. It will be battle between their lives and politics. I see a political revolution with a new breed of leaders that will rise up but the shift like I said we should watch out in 2031.

A new government will remove subsidy. Things will go high but at the same time things will finally fall In place .

The next government is coming under the permissive will of God. Like others say, its a David but God told me its a Saul preparing a way for David.

Young ladies should be careful of hookups because there will be high rise of ritual killings this year.

The spokesperson of the Labour Party presidential campaign council, Yunusa Tanko, is highly optimistic that a lot of people will soon join the campaign train of the presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi.

Speaking in an interview with Ejesgist.ng, Yunusa Tanko who disclosed that a younger brother to former governor of Zamfara state, Yari recently joined the Labour party in Zamfara state, said more people will keep joining the party since there are supporters of Peter Obi all over the country.

Speaking further, Yunusa Tanko noted that for some time now, he has been saying that Peter Obi has supporters in every household in Nigeria including the presidency and up till now, he has not been challenged by anybody.

He added that every Nigerian has faced the the brunt of their children not going for school for about nine months due to the ASUU strike, so there is no household that has not felt the impact of situations in the country.

Hear him, “Recently we just have the younger brother to a former governor of Zamfara state, Yari joining us, and he is one of our candidates in Zamfara state. There will be more because we need everybody, but, as far as we’re concerned, we’re going to make do with what is available and then plead with others so they can join us. I keep on saying there is an Obidient in every household including the presidency and I remain to be challenged”.

“Every Nigerian has filled the brunt of their children not going to school for nine months. Every Nigerian has felt the effect of the dwindling economy. Already, there’s an increase in inflation and unemployment rate. So, there’s no household that has not felt it” he added.

G-5 Governor Backs Obasanjo’s endorsement of Peter Obi

One of the G-5 governors, Samuel Ortom has backed the endorsement of Peter Obi

Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue state, has backed the endorsement of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo

Obasanjo, in his New Year message to Nigerians, had endorsed Obi’s presidential bid, saying the LP candidate has an edge over the other candidates.

Commenting on the development on Tuesday, Ortom said if he were not a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he would have personally led Obi’s campaign across the country.

Ortom said he is convinced that Obi “possesses the qualities of a leader who will be a true president of this country by guaranteeing justice, equity and fairness for all Nigerians”.

The Benue governor noted that Obi will provide the leadership that Nigerians desire.

“Governor Ortom strongly recommends Peter Obi to Nigerians as the man who has the capacity to effectively tackle the economic, security and other challenges facing the country,” he said in a statement signed by Terver Akase, his spokesperson.

“The Governor stresses that for some years, the country has been tottering on the verge of collapse, owing to leadership failure and its attendant consequences of poverty, heightened insecurity with banditry, kidnappings and other acts of terrorism threatening the very foundations of the nation.

He says the President that Nigeria needs at this challenging time in the country’s history is one who understands the urgent need to unite the people and speedily initiate policies and actions to redirect the ship of the nation on the path of growth and development, and emphasizes that Peter Obi has all such qualities.

“Governor Ortom lauds Chief Obasanjo for once again demonstrating objectivity, truth, and patriotism as a statesman whose views on national issues must be taken seriously.”

Obasanjo’s endorsement of Obi had elicited reactions from the two major political parties, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) describing it as “worthless” while the PDP said Obasanjo’s stance does not reflect the opinion of Nigerians.

BREAKING: Edwin Clark Endorses Peter Obi for President

Edwin Clark has endorsed Peter Obi for President

Elder statesman and leader of the South-South, Chief Edwin Clark, has endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, for the forthcoming election.

He made the announcement at a media briefing in his residence in Abuja on Tuesday.

The 96-year-old leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) said his endorsement of the former Anambra State governor followed a thorough examination of his plan for the country by the forum.

He noted that Obi’s pathway to sustainable development is commendable just as his desire to carry along people from the Niger Delta in his governance.

Clark said Nigeria must remain a country with equal opportunity for all citizens irrespective of tribe and religion.

He said the youth will be the greatest beneficiary of the Peter Obi administration.

Clark, who is also the leader of the Southern and Middle Belt Leadership Forum (SMBLF), said giving the opportunity for a southeasterner to lead the country will give true meaning to the former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon’s mantra after the civil war of “no victor no vanquished.”

Omoyele Sowore, the AAC’s presidential candidate, has stated that he will reject any attempt by former president Olusegun Obasanjo to support him in the upcoming 2023 election because the former Nigerian leader’s term was filled with brutality.

The media entrepreneur claimed in a video shared across his social media pages on Tuesday morning that, despite being “very desperate” for Nigerians to be freed, he is not willing to accept support from “the enemies of our people.”

Of course, I want to become the president of Nigeria, the presidential candidate declared.

The poor people of Nigeria, who are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, and who are sleeping in agony due to insecurities, hunger, and starvation, are what matter, not my ambition.

Of course, I need a lot of endorsements, but Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s won’t do since he served as president for more than 12 years with nothing but barbarism to show for it.

What will I say to the residents of Zaki Biam and Odi? that the maniac who murdered them is now my teacher?

“Or what will I say about journalist Dele Giwa’s memories? that one of my godfathers is now the drug dealer known as “Maradona”? Mba (which means “no,” in Igbo)!

“I’d rather have support from the people who are in the millions but don’t have billions of Naira,” he said.

I’d prefer to have the support of the oppressed who suffer the most from the vulcanizing economy we currently have, which has been imposed on our people and resulted in untold hardship and poverty.

“I’d prefer to have the support of my fellow anti-SAP, anti-deregulation, and most recently, anti-EndSARS comrades.

“I’d rather have the support of the northern Talakawa, who are under the control of ISWAP, bandits, and Boko Haram.”

“Some are desperate to be supported by the adversaries of our people,” he continued. But am I in need? Very desperate, indeed.

I am in desperate need of quality, cost-free education at all levels. I’m in serious need of affordable, high-quality healthcare for all. I assert that I am desperate to put a stop to the avaricious criminals and give our commonwealth back to the people who originally owned it.

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has earned Chief Edwin Clark’s support as his choice for the elections in February. Chief Edwin Clark is a national Ijaw leader and the convener of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF).

According to Clark, who addressed journalists at his Asokoro residence in Abuja, stated that Obi’s efforts to restructure Nigeria will bring the nation together.

As he stated that the South East should be permitted to produce the next President because the region has the resources and educated people to govern the nation, Clark claimed that one who must be the next President of the country must be educated and experienced.

“I have since received a thorough briefing on the successful conclusion of the interaction held at that occasion,” Clark said. I have noted the following observations that were made during the meeting, among other things: That PANDEF presented to the presidential candidate the expectations and demands of the peoples of the Niger Delta, including the development of infrastructure, the devolution of power, resource management, effective and inclusive participation in the oil and gas sector, among other things.

“That the vision statement presented by His Excellency Peter Obi at the event is very commendable as it relates to making Nigeria more productive, utilizing the abundant resource endowment in every part of the country; reducing waste and combating corruption; and creating jobs for our teeming youths through innovative initiatives.

That his reaffirmed commitment to reorganizing and decentralizing power will foster harmony and peaceful coexistence among the states and other parts of the nation.

That his vision for greater equity and justice in the South-South, which over the past 60 years has contributed significantly to the national economy but has been neglected with little impact on infrastructure and social development, is admirable and convincing.

“Peter Obi’s dedication to environmental justice and the cleanup of the Niger Delta’s polluted neighborhoods is highly appreciated, especially in light of how slowly even the ongoing Ogoni clean-up has progressed.

If he wins the election, it will be very comforting to know that he is committed to including capable Niger Delta residents in the national governance process.
