At the closing of the Request for Proposal (RFP) period, the Port Harcourt International Airport (PHIA) had not yet received any proposals.

The Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) and other stakeholders are in discussions with the Aviation Ministry about getting bidders.

Sirika promised to keep local and international stakeholders, development partners, the media, and Nigerians informed.

On September 19, 2022, the Nigeria Airports Concession Programme (NACPRFP )’s phase came to an end.

  • Nigeria’s national carrier to commence operations amid protest

On Wednesday, Senator Hadi Sirika, the nation’s minister of aviation, guaranteed that Nigeria Air, the country’s flag airline, will launch operations in early December 2022.

After meeting with the Senate Committee on Aviation, which airline operators boycotted, the Minister provided this promise to the Senate Press Corps during a meeting in the National Assembly.

There is no going back on the planned launch of the national carrier, insisted Sirika, who was present at the meeting with all heads of agencies under the Ministry of Aviation. She emphasized the national carrier’s benefits to the economy and society.

Domestic airline carriers in Nigeria had previously opposed the initiative on the grounds that Ethiopian Airlines would become a major shareholder.

They attended the meeting in large numbers to voice their opposition to the strategy that let Ethiopian Airlines become a significant investor.

Hadi Siriki responded in response to inquiries about the incident by stating that Nigeria Air is a “Limited Liability Company owned by the Federal government and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a legal organization.

“Nigeria Air is a firm that is registered and known to the laws of Nigeria and which, with the grace of God, will become the much-anticipated airline,” he stated.

By God’s grace, it will take place between now and December of this year. It will operate and fairly compete with all of those current airlines.

No business is intended to be killed. The goal is to support the growth of all enterprises so they can serve the market and employ locals.

The more the merrier, is the intention. When there are more persons conducting business, the one who does it best takes advantage and provides greater service, which benefits the public.

The strong competition will drive down ticket prices, boost people’s inclination to travel, encourage more people to fly, generate more revenue for the airlines, and provide more services to Nigeria if everyone is succeeding without showing any favoritism.

“The concept is excellent. It will be established, and it will be for the people, whether it is established by God’s grace or not,” he remarked.

The domestic airline operators stated in their testimony before the committee that they are not against National Carrier but rather against Ethiopian Airlines as a significant shareholder with a 49% equity stake.

The President of Top Brass Aviation and former Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Roland Iyayi, received resistance from domestic airline operators who stated that the initiative, as currently envisaged, is harmful to domestic operators.

“Ethiopia has no plans to help Nigeria develop. Ethiopia has long advocated against aviation colonization in Africa.

The National Carrier or Nigeria Air project, he said, “would be a good legacy if effectively implemented, but as it is currently envisioned, it will end up being legacy that will lead to the collapse of local carriers.”

  • Suspended Osun PDP members write Atiku, Chairman Ayu

The PDP’s prospects for victory in the 2023 presidential elections may be jeopardized by the actions of the Adekunle Akindele-led caretaker committee, according to several suspended PDP members in Osun State.

The members, who are from the state’s Ayedaade Local Government Area, were suspended for allegedly engaging in anti-party behavior.

They support Dotun Babayemi, the detained PDP leader from Osun.

Segun Odekunmi, the secretary of the PDP Elders Forum in the State, and seven other signatories warned of terrible implications if the Osun PDP conflict was not handled in a plea.

The petition was sent to Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP national chairman, and all members of the party’s National Working Committee. It was titled “Re:Complaints Against the Illegal Suspension of Party Leaders from Ayedaade Local Government of Osun State By the State Caretaker Committee, Pursuant to Articles 57 & 61 of Peoples Democratic Party’s Constitution

“Only in a climate of harmony and respect for one another does our party stand a chance of winning every election at the upcoming general elections. In order to prevent this unfortunate move from consuming our party in the upcoming elections, they hoped that the National Working Committee of their party will timely intervene to fix this aberration.

They said that the Osun PDP caretaker committee was witch-hunting them due to their public support for Dotun Babayemi’s bid for governor, and they called the accusations leveled against them false and absurd.

“We want to make it very clear that the accusations made by our traducers in the party are untrue, without merit, and cannot be supported by any relevant data. The fact that Prince Oyedotun Babayemi is a member of our local government and that we have a moral obligation to support his goals is something we express with all seriousness.

“Supporting Babayemi’s goals never implied anti-party sentiment. We assumed he would prevail in court, so we toiled ceaselessly and nonstop for the party’s victory.

“Suspending party members as the elections drew nearer has the potential to raise misgivings in PDP members’ minds and might significantly impact the party’s chances at the 2023 elections if not quickly handled.”

Adelani Ajanaku, Kehinde Adesiyan, Mayowa Adegboye, Aliyu Adeyanju, Kamorudeen Ojo Elegunmeje, Ajayi Solomon, and Munurudeen Adekunle are the other signatories to the petition.

Dotun Babayemi, a rival Osun PDP candidate for governor, was dismissed from the organization for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities.

His expulsion came after he had been suspended by the PDP ward executive members in the State’s Ayedaade Local Government Area.

According to Effiom, the team of police officers detained 21-year-old Uzairu Adamu from Yandutse village in Ringim LGA because his chamber had ten (10) and a half bags of dried leaves that were thought to be Indian hemp.

After being questioned, the suspect admitted, according to Effiom, that he had purchased the exhibits from a certain Zaidu Galadima, a truck driver from the Malamawa village in the Ringim region.

The two suspects, according to him, were detained, and SCID Dutse is still looking into the case.

According to him, preliminary inquiry showed that the individuals had been on the NDLEA’s wanted list.

According to the CP, the suspects would be turned over to the NDLEA for additional investigation before being charged in court.

  • NDLEA boss warns drivers against use of hard drugs

Hard drug abuse can result in commuters dying instantly, according to Joseph Icha, Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Borno State.

The Commandant urged commuters in the State to completely abstain from drug abuse during the holiday season when he spoke on Tuesday in Maiduguri as part of the Federal Road Safety Commission’s (FRSC) 2022 “ember month” enlightenment.

Icha pointed out that abstaining completely from drug or alcohol abuse was in the best interests of everyone, including the drivers and passengers, if they wanted to live.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bello Fago, who was speaking on behalf of the Borno State Commissioner of Police, urged participants to internalize the lessons learned during the awareness campaign.

He said that during the time period under consideration, commuters should be most concerned about “overspeeding, purchasing subpar spare parts, especially breaks, and of course abusing all kinds of hard drugs.”

Abubakar Tijani, the commissioner of transportation, who was acting in place of Governor Babagana Zulum, praised the FRSC for maintaining its commitment to the people despite the long-standing insurgency in the State.

“Despite the many security issues we face on our roads, I must thank you for helping us keep our people alive.

“We are pleased with you as well for maintaining the cooperation with other security agencies. Although some of the State’s roads are dangerous, you still manage to save lives and property every day, he said.

In response to commuter overload, Zulum urged various organizations in the parking lots to launch fresh initiatives and reduce the threat to the absolute minimum.

Boyi Utten, the sector commander, also urged commuters to drive defensively whenever they are on the road.

  • Governor Samuel Ortom visits N7.5b ongoing projects at BSUTH, BENGIS

The repair work being done in the Wards and Theatre blocks of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, BSUTH, has been praised by Governor Samuel Ortom.

The Governor also expressed his happiness that the multi-billion dollar Benue Geographic Information Service, BENGIS complex building is proceeding as expected.

He spoke on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 after taking some time to check over the multi-billion naira BENGIS complex being built and the ongoing repair work at the University Teaching Hospital.

The Governor gave an explanation of how the State Government had gotten a loan from the Central Bank of Nigeria for 2 billion Naira to modernize the state’s medical facilities.

The Governor provided a summary of the loan’s distribution and revealed that BSUTH spent N519 million on the renovation of the theater block and wards, totaling N1.1 billion.

“We also spent over $400 million to buy an MRI scanner,” he stated. The remaining $900 million has been distributed to various general hospitals in the state to upgrade medical facilities and improve the delivery of healthcare services to our people. In addition, we have purchased two dialysis machines and outfitted laboratories.

“This is a legacy project that will be here and help us,” he remarked. As a human, I could become ill tomorrow, just as any of us here could, and this is a tertiary facility for medical services that will need support.

“I praise the contractor; he did not let me down, did a good work, and kept his promises. He has told me that they would be able to finish their job in the following two months after the hospital is able to transfer the patients to the other two levels that have been finished.

The Governor also made time to see hospital patients who had been injured in varying degrees by alleged Fulani herders.

The Governor said, “Outside what I came to see, I had the honor of witnessing some persons who survived attacks by the Fulani herdsmen attacks,” in a voice filled with grief. The two eyes of a young man were amputated by Fulani militants, while the legs and hands of the others were severed.

There is no other crises like the one involving herders and farmers, Governor Ortom insisted. The only things that have come to send our people away are banditry and evil. I won’t do it because I have over 2 million IDPs and they expect me to be laughing and dining with them.

While applauding President Muhammadu Buhari for ordering that those responsible for the massacre at Gbeji in the Ukum local government be brought to justice, he disapproved of recent remarks made by the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who was accused of favoring his Fulani kin over the country as a whole.

“For someone who is aspiring to be President,” the Governor said. It demonstrates unequivocally that Benue State and some of us are not secure if he is elected president.

As long as he is governor, he insisted, “Nobody can stop me from speaking up for my people and defending lives and property in Benue State. I can thus continue to speak up for my countrymen despite Atiku. Let him stop his kin from killing my people if he wants to stop me. This wickedness is only being carried out by Fulani terrorists, he claimed.

Engineer Steven Akange of Privent Construction Nigeria Limited, the company in charge of the BSUTH project, said the work is 70% finished and the final 30% will be finished in the next two months for commissioning.

The quality and speed of the work done are a result of the State Government’s complete commitment, he claimed, adding that all materials needed to complete the project task were on site.

Engr Akange acknowledged that the State Government had faithfully upheld its end of the bargain as outlined in the contract and complimented Governor Ortom for using some of the regional contractors.

The first and second top floors of the wards and theaters have undergone extensive renovations, even beyond the original plan, according to the Chief Medical Director of BSUTH, Professor Terrumun Swende. “We have created more spaces, including call rooms at each floor,” he said. We provide furnished call rooms for doctors.

He added that he had approved the installation of a water treatment plant at the hospital and declared that equipment had been purchased. He praised Governor Ortom for following through on his promises.

At BENGIS, Governor Ortom also expressed his satisfaction with the project’s execution, pointing out that it is one of his administration’s legacy projects, has been completed at a cost of 6.5 billion Naira, and was one of the first projects to be eligible for the World Bank grant of 2.5 Million Dollars.

We are excited about this project because we have a population that is expanding and a landmass that needs to be well contained, he said. Both the timeliness and the caliber of the work satisfy me. I am not dissatisfied, and I am anticipating that this project will be ready for commissioning in the upcoming month so that the processes for obtaining land titles throughout Benue State, not just in Makurdi but in all of the important towns in the state, would go quickly.

The project is 90% complete, according to Bernard Unenge, Commissioner for Lands, Survey, and Solid Minerals. He said that the building is finished, the furnishing has started, and the exterior work will be finished in the next month to prepare the project for commissioning.

In addition, Mario Bajouk, the project manager, confirmed that the main building has internet connectivity. He also noted that the exterior work will be finished by the first week of December and thanked Governor Ortom for his consistent support since the project’s inception.

The statement also bemoaned the slow progress of the process started in 2017 to sell company assets in order to pay off employee salary and benefit arrears.

The statement stated that “many workers have died, others are seriously ill, along with hunger and starvation at this difficult time,” and questioned why some companies’ assets had been sold but no action had been taken to pay workers’ entitlements.

They pleaded with Lalong to act quickly and order the fund’s distribution to the company’s employees in order to ease their plight.

  • EndSARS: 2 years after, Oyo police station still in ruins

The 23rd of October 2020 is a day that people in Ogungbade, Kukumoda, Aba Igbira, Amero, Papa, and Adeji won’t soon forget.

Residents of the communities still think back on that day because one of the projects they had funded was demolished.

In the Egbeda Local Government Area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, the communities are situated along the brand-new Ife/Ibadan Expressway.

It was the day that the only police station in the local government area, Ogungbade, which served more than thirty (30) communities, caught fire.

The new Ife/Ibadan expressway is only a little over a kilometer from the police station.

The landlords in these communities had invested their money to build the police station a few years ago as a way to lower the rate of armed robbers in their areas, according to an investigation by Ejes Gist News during a recent visit to the communities.

However, the people’s wish was curtailed on Friday, October 23, 2020, when some criminals used the EndSARS demonstrations as cover to torch the police station.

    Protests against SARS

A few weeks before the protests that erupted in Nigeria’s major cities and towns, what became known as the EndSARS protests made headlines.

The demonstrations, which caused economic disruption in major cities, have been called the best-organized youth protests in Nigeria in recent memory.

EndSARS is described by Wikipedia as a decentralized social movement and a string of large-scale demonstrations against police brutality in Nigeria.

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a division of the Nigerian Police with a long history of alleged abuse of Nigerian citizens’ rights, is to be disbanded, according to the slogan.

Residents claim that protesters used EndSARS as an excuse to burn down the Ogungbade police station.

Some irate youths used the ENDSARS demonstrations as an opportunity to torch the police station.

According to the locals, the community members self-financed the construction of the police station.

According to the locals, the communities contributed about five million naira toward the cost of the police station (N5m).

In spite of repeated requests from the landlords on that fateful day, the police station was reportedly burned to the ground by the hoodlums.

Early on Friday, October 23, 2020—after the residents who had protected the police station from invasion had left—the police station caught fire.

Although they kept watch until 12 am on Friday to stop the thugs from torching the police station the day before (Thursday, October 22, 2020), many of the residents were shocked to wake up to find their investment on fire.

This is how the Ogungbade police station in Oyo State, which is a police station under the Egbeda Divisional Police Headquarters, was destroyed by fire.

According to Ejes Gist News’s investigations, between Tuesday, October 20, and Friday, October 23, 2020, seven (7) police stations in Oyo State were either completely or partially burned during the EndSARS protests.

Only one police station is located in Iseyin, compared to six (6) in Ibadan.

Ogungbade Police Station, Ojoo Police Station, Iseyin Police Station, Egbeda Divisional Headquarters, Gbagi, Adelubi Police Station, Alabebe Police Station, and Akobo Police Station are the affected police stations.

According to information obtained by Ejes Gist News, items burned in the affected police stations included patrol cars, seized cars, and cars parked next to the stations.

More than forty (40) vehicles were burned and vandalized in total, the Ejes Gist News has learned.

The enraged youths destroyed additional items, including electronic devices, generators, and other office supplies.

The hoodlums carted away a number of weapons and ammunition, including guns, rifles, and other security equipment during the protests.

The Ogungbade police, according to the locals, were finished around seven (7) years ago.

It took one year and six months to build.

During a visit on Friday, residents told Ejes Gist News that they had contributed the money—roughly five million naira—seven years prior to the police station’s completion.

According to the locals, six vehicles along with the police station were set on fire.

Two years after EndSARS, Ogungbade Police Station

The burned-out portion of the police station hasn’t been rebuilt, though, two years after it was destroyed by fire.

The police station is still in the same condition as when it was demolished two years ago, according to a recent visit by Ejes Gist News.

The primary area of the police station that burned down during the protest is still in ruins, it was found.

In a similar vein, the burned-out vehicles from the protest have not been removed from the station.

    Residents converse

During a Ejes Gist News visit to the neighborhoods, some of the landlords who spoke expressed displeasure with the police station’s current state.

One of the locals, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed surprise that the police officers were still using temporary buildings as offices.

The temporary buildings are still being used as offices by the police officers. The main station was destroyed by fire two years ago during EndSARS, but it has not been rebuilt.

“We urged the State government to take this community into consideration when building the police station. This station was finished seven years ago. We can only ask the governments to rebuild the police station for us now that it has burned down, he said.

Several communities in the Egbeda Local Government Area were served by the police station, according to community leader Alhaji Lanre Latinwo.

From Ife Road up to Papa, Oki in Iwo Road, this police station served a number of communities, the man said. It served numerous localities. It was built by the locals for between 5 and 10 million naira, and we gave it to the Oyo State Police command.

But during the EndSARS, the main police station, which housed the DPO office, an armory, a cell, and offices, was destroyed by fire. It is still there in the same condition as when it was burned in 2020; it has not been rebuilt.

The officers are currently using stores close to the main structure.

In September, the Landlords’ Association started collecting money for reconstruction.

The local landowners have stated that they are working to rebuild the destroyed station.

The townspeople noted that they started raising funds for the police station’s reconstruction in September of this year.

Alhaji Lukman Akinpelu, vice president of the Kukumada/ Ogungbade and Environs Landlords/ Landladies’ Association, who also spoke with the Daily Post on Monday, stated that the locals are currently working to rebuild the station.

“It was burned in October 2020,” he remarked. It has therefore been there ever since. Although all of our efforts, including those of the DPO of Gbagi, have been in vain, they claimed that the government wants to rebuild it. Recently, the Area Commander visited; he promised to write a letter converting it to Divisional Police Headquarters, but the situation remains the same.

“They told us to go rebuild it after they had returned. They instructed us to rebuild it, so recently we have been trying to raise money for it. There are currently only two patrol vans in Egbeda, so we plan to use the funds to purchase a third. We made a contribution of one thousand naira (1,000) for each house, but later on, someone gave us a golf car, which we used as a patrol van.

“Consequently, we used the funds to rebuild the police station. The action was taken in September. We completed 10 pillars. Some rooms have had plaster applied. We continue to provide financial support for the police station’s renovation.

For 12 years, Hon. Daniel Asuquo, also known as Dansuki, served as a representative for the federal Akamkpa/Biase constituency in the House of Representatives.

The court that declared the Labour Party’s Calabar primary elections for the Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State invalid was presided over by Justice A.R. Muhammed.

Asuquo was declared ineligible by the court, and the Independent National Electoral Commission was ordered to immediately remove him from the list of candidates.

The APC candidate for the same senatorial seat, Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr., a former commissioner for finance in the State, had taken the LP candidate to court on the grounds that the LP did not follow the rules when holding the senatorial primary.

Osim responded by disputing the decision of the High Court, claiming that they followed all procedures and requirements.

“Asuquo duly resigned from his former party,” he said in his explanation. His letter of resignation was duly released and widely disseminated.

He officially approached our party and registered at his neighborhood ward in accordance with the party’s charter.

The primary election that produced Hon. Daniel Asuquo as our candidate for the Cross River Southern Senatorial District election was conducted according to the rules, our party wants to reaffirm.

The security agencies, INEC officials, and party dignitaries from the national headquarters were present during the primary election, according to the LP chairman.

He claimed that the other parties’ senatorial candidates were intimidated by the popularity of their own candidate, who had served the Akamkpa/Biase federal constituency for 12 years in the green chambers.

  • EPL: I’m better than you – Cristiano Ronaldo Blasted for disregarding Erik ten Hag

Frank Leboeuf, a former player for Chelsea, praised Erik ten Hag for appropriately punishing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Leboeuf claimed that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner already believed himself to be superior to the manager due to the Portuguese’s constant gesticulations and shaking whenever he was off the field of play.

Ronaldo was punished for disrespecting his teammates and disobeying his manager by being left out of the team that drew 1-1 with Chelsea over the weekend.

However, Ten Hag revealed on Wednesday that the 37-year-old has rejoined the team in time for Thursday’s Europa League match.

Ronaldo repeated the same mistake during Man United’s preseason game against Rayo, so Leboeuf thinks the Dutch manager did the right thing by punishing him.

The former Chelsea player claimed it was unprofessional for a football legend like Ronaldo to behave that way and constantly display his rage to the world.

Leboeuf told FairBettingSites, “It’s also unprofessional, and for it to happen again against Tottenham, I think you cannot do that. He knows exactly what he was doing and wanted to show to the world that he was unhappy.

  • Benue APC Governorship Election under threat as fresh crisis erupts

Due to irreconcilable differences among the state’s major ethnic and interest groups, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) attempt to unseat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as governor of Benue State is currently in jeopardy.

The latest controversy centers on allegations of collusion between Benue South (Zone C Senatorial District) and the Gubernatorial Campaign Council, the main group responsible for supporting the party’s governorship candidate, Rev Father Hyacinth Alia.

On Wednesday, sources told our correspondent that the APC’s political fortunes might plummet and the party might as well forget its goals if the internal crises are not effectively managed, particularly by the national leaders ordering the state APC leaders to order.

Positions in the Governorship Campaign Council that were deemed to be inappropriately given to party leaders in Benue South have already been flatly rejected due to injustice and unfairness to Zone C.

For instance, a group operating under the auspices of the G-9 Benue South Progressive Forum has reiterated its willingness to work for Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s election as the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) presidential candidate in the general election of 2023, but it has reservations about the governorship candidate.

The APC governor candidate was alleged to have refused to concede any important positions to the Zone in the event of his victory, aside from the alleged unsuitable positions in the State Campaign Council.

At an emergency meeting in Abuja, the group’s chairman, Chief Johnson Agada, who has the support of the former Senate President, former federal and state lawmakers, and former military officers among others, promised journalists that his group would fight injustice and unfair treatment during the political climate in Benue in 2023.

The group’s attention, according to Agada, was drawn to some posts that were circulated in some media outlets and claimed that the group had stopped supporting the APC and its presidential candidate in the 2023 election.

Agada clarified that those making such news were those who had been kicked out of the group due to their alleged dubious morals and intolerable social antics.

Agada, however, claimed that the governorship candidate undermined the Benue South (Idoma) people by failing to appear for negotiations as agreed upon during his first visit to the group, which is why group members rejected appointments into the State’s Campaign Council.

“We are not ignorant. In a meeting with Rv. Father Hyacinth Alia, the APC’s candidate for governor, we presented him with demands on behalf of Zone C residents, and he promised to get back to us once he had considered them.

But he never showed up, and then we were startled to see some of our names listed as members of the State’s Campaign Council on a distorted statement.

“We had to respond to and reject such appointments in writing right away. He undercut our power and our efforts to be cohesive and united.

Another senior member of the group and Chieftain of the party, Prof. Dickson Akoh, responded by stating that the group firmly supports Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s candidacy and that it will work to ensure that he is elected.

Akoh, who was recently named the Assistant Director (North Central), Support Group Coordination for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, argued that those who were expelled were the ones making such disparaging remarks about the group.

He issued a warning that anyone caught attempting to impersonate the group in any way would be dealt with legally because the group is legitimately registered with the appropriate authorities and has all of its paperwork in order, including patent rights to its name and logo.

Oche Emmanuel, the group’s publicity secretary, advised those impersonating G-9 and making disparaging remarks about the group to stop or prepare to face the law during the briefing. He emphasized that the G-9 would not hesitate to identify anyone responsible for any shady activity carried out in the name of the group.

Former Senate President and APC leader Senator Ameh Ebute and former Secretary of the Okpokwu Local Government Council Mrs. Theresa Ikwue both reaffirmed their commitment to the G-9 in separate goodwill messages and urged participants to remain steadfast in the fight for the Zone C people.

Former APC State Chairman Comrade Abba Yaro, former Nigerian Ambassador to Algeria Ambassador Mabdul Mohammed, former House of Representatives Member Hon. Bennard Ochepa, and former State House Assembly Member Hon. Adams Okloho were present at the crucial Abuja meeting.

Others include the former Okpokwu Local Government Chairman, Anne Itodo, the former ACN Women Leader in the FCT, Mrs. Kate Ijogi, the former Manager with Shell Petroleum, Engr. Austin Oleho, the former Legal Adviser for the APC in Benue State, Omale Omale, the current Publicity Secretary of the Group, Oche Emmanuel, and the Chieftain of the party, Amb. Dickson Akoh.

A stronger synergy with sister agencies was also requested by Effiong-Okon, particularly in the areas of “information sharing and intelligent gathering,” which he described as “important tools in the fight against criminality.”

The government has “invested” significantly in security, according to Rivers State’s 42nd commissioner of police, who pledged that the command he heads will ensure that the money wasn’t wasted.

The CP warned those who did not want the Rivers people to live in peace to stay away from them or prepare to face the law while promising a more “proactive system of policing.”

Speaking about the upcoming general elections in the State, CP Effiong-Okon issued a warning that electoral violence of any kind, including “thurgery,” will not be tolerated.

The CP admonished parents and guardians to watch out for their kids and wards and make sure they “do not allow themselves to be used as thugs or be ready for a war from the police.”

In addition, he pledged to send out patrol teams throughout the State while guaranteeing the defense of human rights.

Harry Kane, the captain and leading scorer for Tottenham, thought he had given the home team the victory when he swept in Emerson Royal’s cross in the final second of stoppage time.

However, after a thorough investigation into the events leading up to the goal, VAR determined that the England captain had scored from an offside position, and the goal was disallowed.

A defeated Conte told BT Sport after the game, “I think the ball was in front of Kane and the goal is a goal. Yeah. I don’t comprehend the line that was used. It is very challenging to offer commentary on this choice.

“VAR is seriously harming the game. I want to find out if a major team is prepared to forbid this kind of goal in a different stadium. I’m curious about this.

a great deal of injustice. I dislike situations like this. I don’t see any promising signs.

Xavi mentioned Group C’s strength when asked about his team’s elimination from the competition.

“We must face the facts. We must develop gradually, as I previously stated, and today brought some positive developments.

We couldn’t compete with them today. We performed better in Munich, but today we didn’t compete.

Bayern was superior today. They were better today, just as we were in Munich and ought to have won. Everything that happened to us occurred in the Champions League and the group was very complicated, according to Xavi.

  • “It’s my turn’ – How VP Osinbajo, Amaechi Turned Tinubu’s foes

The All Progressives Congress, APC, will undoubtedly miss the dexterity of former minister Chibuike Amaechi now that the presidential campaign has begun for the general election of 2023.

Since the party’s presidential primary election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, its presidential candidate, and some of its top leaders have not been on speaking terms.

Since the primary election, party leaders like Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and former Governor of Rivers State Amaechi have withdrawn from party activities.

In both the 2015 and 2019 elections, Amaechi served as the Director-General of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Campaign. In the two subsequent elections, he performed well.

That is not the case, though, as the party gets ready for the elections in 2023.

Amaechi has not accepted or rejected Osinbajo’s appointment to the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, despite his glaring absence from the group.

According to Ejes Gist News, Tinubu received 1,271 votes, beating his closest competitors Amaechi (316 votes) and Osinbajo, after weeks of intrigues and uncertainty (235 votes).

After public endorsements of Amaechi from individuals like Simon Lalong of Plateau State, Nasir Elrufai of Kaduna, and Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State, Tinubu was able to win over the northern governors.

The Northern APC governors broke ranks and sided with Tinubu after Atiku Abubakar was chosen as the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate. They thought Amaechi’s chances of defeating Atiku were extremely slim.

After publicly endorsing Amaechi, Badaru led the group of presidential contenders who resigned and urged their supporters to back Tinubu.

And after the presidential primary elections, Tinubu insisted there was a gang up against him and that he fought to win the ticket.

According to a source close to the Tinubu presidential campaign council, the former Lagos helmsman has not yet forgave all of his rivals during the primary election, especially Amaechi and Osinbajo.

He claimed that Tinubu had made it abundantly clear that it was his turn to succeed Buhari as president. He exerted every effort to bring the APC to power, so it disappointed him that people like Osinbajo continued to challenge him. According to reports, the APC national leader was extremely disappointed that Osinbajo did not resign alongside the roughly 8 other candidates who did so that evening.

According to the insider, Osinbajo considers Tinubu’s rise to be a sign of backwardness. Although the vice president is aware that his former boss has suggestions for improving the nation, he claimed that his advanced age and failing health would be a major setback for Nigeria and that the vice president would never pretend to support him.

Our source claims that “most people take it as a joke when Tinubu says that becoming president of Nigeria was one of his childhood dreams. He spent his entire life working and dreaming of achieving this. It would have been simpler for him now if he hadn’t chosen this Muslim-Muslim ticket for vice president in 2015, but he gave that up and nominated one of his sons, Osinbajo, instead.

“The truth is that Tinubu didn’t anticipate any of the aspirants to compete against him in the primary when the Northern Governors agreed that it was Tinubu’s turn after weeks of intense campaigning. But as Osinbajo and Amaechi’s relationship dragged on, things were not the same. Amaechi was not added to his campaign team by him. As opposed to Amaechi, Tinubu was more concerned with winning over Governor Nyesom Wike. One person who does not support Tinubu and feels betrayed by the primary result is Amaechi. A few weeks after the primary, Amaechi made a statement that Tinubu’s camp found offensive. It would be a waste of time for anyone to count on the former minister to support Tinubu’s election. Amaechi doesn’t speak or act like the governor, so it’s almost like Wike and Atiku. Also take note that Osinbajo’s absence from the presidential campaign council is not an accident. In actuality, he ought to be one of the campaign’s leaders.

“Before I go, let me say this: Can’t Nigerians just respect when someone says they’re fine? For the love of Christ, it’s his health, and you are the best person to judge your own health. I have no doubt that, with or without their support, our presidential candidate will prevail in the 2023 presidential election on behalf of our wonderful party. Although he has the necessary structures in place, it would actually be simpler for us if they helped.

However, Tinubu insisted he has nothing against Osinbajo while speaking to a group in Kano that supported Osinbajo’s presidential campaign, declaring, “I have nothing against him. I visited his home following the primaries.

“I ran into him at the president’s retreat on the day of the goodwill message. How are you approaching Allah if you are unable to extend forgiveness? For me, it is finished.
