NOTICE OF CIVIL SERVICE JOB VACANCIES (RECRUITMENT OF EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONALS)

 

The Edo State Government is carrying out a Civil Service Transformation and Enhancement Project as part of its Institutional Reform Agenda. The Project is designed to develop the Human and Organizational capabilities required to deliver efficient services to the people of Edo State, and to Make Edo Great Again.

 

The services of talented experienced professionals are required to fill critical vacant positions in the Service, support the implementation of the transformation programme and to contribute to embedding the new ways of working.

 

Candidates who possess the required qualifications, experience and skills and would like to join us on this exciting and challenging Transformation Journey are invited to apply. General Requirements:

 

Candidates must possess the minimum academic and professional requirements for each role as stated below. Unless otherwise stated, a minimum of a second-class lower university degree or lower credit HND Diploma is required and candidate must have completed the mandatory NYSC program (where applicable). Additional educational or professional qualifications may be an added advantage. Candidates must also be computer literate, technology savvy, and possess good Interpersonal and leadership skills and be able to work effectively in teams.

PRINCIPAL EDUCATION OFFICERS GL12    Job Code EXP-C-01

 

Duties: Initiating and directing research program, responsible for the maintenance of educational standard in an area, Responsible for an area or zonal inspectorate office or a unit in the Ministry.

 

Requirements: Any of the following qualifications:

 

  1. A first degree in education or in any other relevant subject from a recognized university; or

 

  1. A degree in a relevant subject plus a post graduate diploma or certificate in education

with a minimum of 9 years relevant working experience

 

CHIEF EDUCATION OFFICERS GL14    Job Code EXP-C-02

 

Duties: Inspecting and supervising Schools and Colleges and reporting on levels of Institutions below Universities, leading Inspection Teams, Taking charge of a Section e.g. Planning, Curriculum Development and Research e.t.c.

 

Requirements: Candidates must possess either a first degree in education or in any other relevant subject from a recognized university; or a degree in a relevant subject plus a post graduate diploma or certificate in education, with a minimum of 15 years relevant working experience.

PRINCIPAL STATE COUNSEL    GL 12    Job Code EXP-C-03

 

Duties: Prosecuting all criminal and civil proceedings on behalf of the government, advising on the rights and obligations of the government in legal matters, reviewing existing law, vetting draft or proposed laws, assisting in training of officers and writing reports.

 

Requirements: Candidates must possess a degree in Law from a University recognized by the Council of Legal Education and must have been called to the Nigerian Bar with a minimum of 3 years Post call to bar experience in a Law office.

 

PRINCIPAL ENGINEERS (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and other disciplines)

Duties: Assisting in carrying out detailed design of projects, revising and improving on existing designs, supervising the organization of training programmes for staff.

 

Requirements: Candidates must possess a degree in a relevant engineering discipline, must be registered with the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN) and must possess not less than 6 years working experience. Additional qualifications may be an added advantage.

PRINCIPAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER (GL 12) Job Code EXP-C-13 Duties: Responsible for environmental health activities in a health district, comprising of a number of Local Government Areas, oversees specialized health units (Nutrition, Malaria, statistics, Health Education etc), collecting, collating, analyzing and redistributing environmental health data.

 

Requirements: A first degree in Environmental Health Science from a recognized university plus a minimum of 9 years’ relevant working experience.

 

PRINCIPAL ARCHITECTS (Grade Level 12)    Job Code EXP-C-14

 

Duties: Supervising building registers and planning systems cross-checking all working drawings to ensure that there are no discrepancies. Assisting in the planning and execution of training programmes for as Requirements: Candidates must possess any of the following:

Duties:  Coordinating the implementation  of  geological  activities  and

 

programs, Geological, Geo-chemical and Mineral and investigation projects and other approved programs, Taking charge of the administration of a session within the geological department and supervising staff training.

 

Requirements: Candidates must possess a first degree in Geology, Mining or Exploratory Geology or Geology with Elementary Topographical Surveys as a subsidiary subject from a recognized university; or a degree and post graduate diploma in Geochemistry or Geology with specialization in Geochemistry from a recognized university plus a minimum of 15 years working experience.

 

PRINCIPAL ESTATE OFFICERS (Grade Level 12)    Job Code EXP-C-19

 

Duties: Ensuring the safekeeping of records and books relating to Government properties, participating in the formulation of estate policies; coordinating training programmes for the staff in the Estate Section.

 

Requirements: Candidates must possess a Higher National Diploma in Estate Management obtained from a recognized Institution and must have either of the following qualifications:(Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) or (Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and valuers) with a minimum of 15 years cognate experience. Additional qualifications may be an added advantage.

 

PRINCIPAL INFORMATION OFFICER    GL12    Job Code EXP-C-20

 

Duties: Responsible for producing high quality features and maintaining information desks; preparing documentaries, features, and press releases on Edo State tourism and cultural development for local and international consumption.

 

Requirements: Candidates must possess a degree preferably in Arts, Journalism, Social Sciences or English Language from a recognized university with a minimum of 9 years cognate experience which must include experience of the professional use of digital marketing techniques and social media tools

 

TOWN PLANNING OFFICERS    GL 12    Job Code EXP-C-21

 

Duties: processing planning programs, master plans and other development plans for approval, reviewing town planning schemes and layouts, initiating planning research program, taking charge of an area office.

 

Requirements: Candidates must possess any of the following: a Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or Town Planning from a recognized Institution with a minimum of 10 years cognate experience. Additional educational or professional qualifications will be an added advantage.

 

PRINCIPAL SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICERS GL12    Job Code EXP-C-22

 

Duties: Coordinating family and welfare development, counseling and corrections, state emergency relief, women development, care for the elderly, communities and social mobilization etc. Organizing seminars and conferences for voluntary organizations.

 

Requirements: Candidates must possess a first degree in Social works, Public Administration, Political Science, Sociology, or any social science discipline or Physical and Health education plus 9 years relevant experience.

 

CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER GL 14    Job Code EXP-C-23

 

Duties: Responsible for human resource management and general administration activities in a Ministry or Department, advising on general HR and administrative matters,

 

Requirements: Candidates must possess a degree in any of the disciplines in social science or Humanities, especially Human Resource Management with a minimum of 15 years cognate experience.
