Suspected thugs attack, wound Corp members, INEC officials, snatch BVAS, others in Evwreni, Delta State
Several members of the National Youth Service and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission have allegedly been assaulted and injured by a group of individuals suspected of being criminals.
The criminals also stole three BVAS machines and other sensitive election materials from the Evwreni community in Delta State’s Ughelli North Local Government Area.

As a result of the alleged attacks by the suspected thugs, voting has been disrupted in virtually all polling stations.
The incident is causing severe tension in the region where Olorogun Otega Emerhor, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress, resides.
The rampaging thugs prevented a team of journalists monitoring the election process from entering the community.

As security personnel sent to the community were allegedly compromised, it was learned that the alleged thugs carried out the attacks on the orders of a Commissioner in the state.
The police were allegedly present and witnessed the heinous acts committed by the suspects.
