What’s the Role?
As the HI Project Security Lead, you will provide direct support to the HI project security risk management and functional support for the HI project following the Opportunity Realization Standards (ORS). You will work closely with the Project Security Manager, continually monitor the threat landscape, assess the resulting risks, and design appropriate mitigations. This ensures the project has a cost-effective, fit-for-purpose security solution, that security risks are managed to ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable), and that all stakeholders are aware of the risks faced by the project. You will contribute robustly to the maturation and development of the HI project, including but not limited to support for:
- Security deliverables and documentation through DG1–DG5
- Pre-FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and FEED activities
- Development and review of security plans
- Security risk management in project execution
- Implementation of security assurance plans
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and cost of the security architecture associated with the project execution phase. You will have a solid-line reporting relationship to the Project Security Manager, a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Project Manager, and a strong working relationship with the project Leads. Your key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating the identification, assessment, and development of security risk mitigation plans aligned with project objectives, schedule, cost controls, and the overall risk management framework.
- Providing structured security input into cross-discipline integration workshops and project reviews, and ensuring the integration of security requirements into engineering, logistics, execution, and operational plans.
- Supporting the delivery of all required security outputs in line with ORS Decision Gates (DG1–DG5), and ensuring smooth documentation and handover from pre-DG3 to execution teams.
- Evaluating and implementing security technologies and best practices to enhance the project’s security posture, resilience, and lifecycle cost efficiency, while ensuring compliance with Group Security Standards and the SEAM Framework.
- Actively participating in pre-DG4 project cadence meetings and supporting project package leads in managing risks to ALARP, including oversight and assurance of contractor and company security plans.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of physical security measures at project sites (deter, deny, detect, delay, respond) and maintaining a common operating picture through engagement with the Security Operations Centre and SCiN operations.
- Coordinating closely with Security Coordinators, intelligence teams, contractors, and logistics teams to support daily intelligence sharing, integrated logistics planning, emergency response, project movements, and the availability of GSAs (Guard Service Assistants) and security vessels.
- Conducting LOD1 assurance, driving the implementation of offshore security mitigations, leading drills, ensuring VPSHR (Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights) briefings and compliance, supporting pre-startup risk assessments, and deputizing for the Project Security Manager as required.
What You Bring
To be considered for the HI Project Security Lead role, you should meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution. A post-graduate qualification in a relevant field will be an advantage.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 2 years in project delivery roles within top-tier consulting firms or data-driven industry environments.
- Strength in project management, analytics, planning, communication, and writing. The ability to work across teams and collaborate with others to deliver results.
- Professional certification in industrial security (PFSO, PSP and/or CPP from ASIS or an equivalent body) will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of the Exploration & Production (E&P) business, especially in the Niger Delta region and Gulf of Guinea. Exposure to energy, infrastructure, or regulated industries is beneficial.
- Good computing skills and experience with managing data, creating and managing simple databases, and general use of activity planning tools.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and experience leveraging digital collaboration and reporting tools to drive efficiency and transparency.

What’s the Role?
As a Technical Security Lead, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the security technology required to protect SCiN’s physical assets and infrastructure. You will ensure that all security technologies, processes, and architecture align with Group standards and regulatory requirements. You must also be able to clearly articulate how security technology mitigates specific risks and adds wider business value to the organization.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this position, you will own responsibility for the planning and cost of the security technology associated with the SCiN Security Function. You will have a solid-line reporting relationship to the Project Security Manager and a strong working relationship with the Team Leads across the Company. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading all security technology matters, providing subject matter expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders, and maintaining awareness of the external security market, including benchmarking and identifying value-adding technologies and partners.
- Developing, maintaining, and driving the SCiN Security Technology Roadmap, covering prioritization, innovation, and delivery of initiatives from ideation through piloting, onboarding, and company-wide rollout.
- Collaborating with SCiN IDT, Real Estate, Projects, telecoms, and other disciplines to design, implement, and assure technical security solutions across all sites, including reviewing engineering and architectural deliverables.
- Establishing, maintaining, and refining group technical specifications, standards, tools, processes, and policies (including access control), ensuring alignment with design and delivery requirements.
- Conducting strategic reviews for high-priority/high-risk assets, developing improvement strategies and business cases, and providing subject matter expert (SME) support through implementation.
- Ensuring all High-Level Security Designs (HLSDs) are fit-for-purpose and compliant; creating HLSDs when needed to meet security risk mitigation demands.
- Providing technical leadership and operational oversight, including acting as functional lead for Genetec system delivery, leading access control operations, and supporting SCiN Security Leadership on enterprise project delivery.
- Building capability and delivering value by mentoring and training security staff, collaborating with contractors and industry partners for innovative solutions, and driving cost savings through quotation reviews, value engineering, and contract support.
In addition to the above, you will align with corporate security/centre requirements under the Group Security Standard (GSS), and your work will have a key impact on the credibility and accountability of the SCiN Security Function with the Business.
What You Bring
To succeed as a Technical Security Lead, you should possess the following qualifications, experience, and personal attributes:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution is required; a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is an advantage.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years working with security technology/equipment in top-tier technology and consulting firms.
- A professional industrial security certification (e.g., PSP from ASIS or an equivalent body) is an advantage.
- Certification in the use of Genetec Interfaces.
- A good understanding of the Exploration & Production (E&P) business, its value drivers, and the Nigerian operating environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead integrated teams, delegate effectively, coach team capability, and drive performance, innovation, and new ways of working.
- A strategic thinker able to advise senior management on threats and mitigation; confident to coordinate and challenge stakeholders on security integration in business proposals.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, presentation, facilitation, and communication (written and oral) skills; able to work under pressure in multicultural, cross-functional teams with flexibility and accountability.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to set out logical arguments clearly and adapt language, form, and message to meet the needs of different people/audiences.
- The ability to intervene in security-related incidents and uphold security procedures without compromise.
- The use of collaborative tools, including SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel, is an advantage; HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) awareness/knowledge is required; the ability to manage costs and drive cost reduction is also expected.
