Prominent Okpe philanthropist and education advocate, Okakuro Edward Ederaine, has unveiled branded T-shirts and face caps in support of the re-election bid of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Ejes Gist News reports that the unveiling took place during a gathering of political supporters and community stakeholders, where Ederaine described the materials as part of early mobilisation efforts to galvanise grassroots backing for the governor’s second-term aspiration.

Speaking at the event, Ederaine said the campaign materials were intended to encourage political participation and signal sustained support for the Oborevwori administration. He urged residents of Delta State, particularly those of Okpe extraction, to mobilise widely and participate actively in the electoral process when the time comes.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has performed creditably since assuming office,” Ederaine said. “His administration has made visible interventions across key sectors, including education, sports development, and the construction and rehabilitation of roads, as well as other social amenities.”
Ederaine, who is known for sponsoring educational initiatives and youth empowerment programmes in Okpe communities, said continuity in governance would allow ongoing projects to be consolidated and expanded. He noted that the governor’s policies have had direct impact at the grassroots level, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
Supporters present at the event echoed similar sentiments, describing the unveiling as a symbolic endorsement of the governor’s performance and leadership style. Some attendees said the distribution of campaign materials was aimed at fostering unity among party supporters and strengthening awareness ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
Governor Oborevwori, a former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, assumed office in 2023 after winning the governorship election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Since taking office, his administration has prioritised infrastructure development, education reforms, and social investment programmes, according to official government statements.
Political analysts note that while the 2027 election is still some distance away, early expressions of support such as this reflect the gradual build-up of political alignments within the state. They also point to the increasing role of community leaders and private citizens in shaping local political narratives through mobilisation and advocacy.
Ederaine called on supporters to engage peacefully in the political process and to focus on voter education and participation. He emphasised that the success of any re-election effort would ultimately depend on the will of the electorate.
The unveiling of the campaign materials adds to a growing list of endorsements and public declarations by political figures and community stakeholders backing Governor Oborevwori’s potential re-election bid as Delta State gradually moves toward the 2027 general elections.
