There is no doubt that reality television shows have established themselves as a mainstay of the entertainment industry. Despite the fact that some reality shows had taken a hiatus for a few years, they appeared to be back in full force in 2021.

1. wins Big Brother Naija (Shine Ya Eye)

Hazel Onou, also known as Whitemoney, is without a doubt one of the most famous people to emerge from a reality show this year. Whitemoney took home the N90 million grand prize, which included a N30 million cash prize, bitcoins, a two-bedroom apartment, a top-of-the-line SUV, and a trip for two to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) courtesy of Travelbeta.

On December 3, exactly two months later, Whitemoney held a listening party for his new song, ‘Selense.’

2. is ‘Nigerian Idol’ (Season 6)

On July 11, 2021, Kingdom Kroseide was crowned the winner of the Nigerian Idol (Season 6) music reality show. Faith Mac Ebiama, Comfort Alalade, Emmanuel Elijah, Clinton Francis, Beyonce Ajomiwe, Francis Atela, Dotun Deloye, Faith Onyeje, Akunna Okey, Daniel Ikechi, and Kingdom Kroseide were the 11 finalists after the auditions.

Kingdom and Francis, on the other hand, were the only two finalists who advanced to the grand finale on Sunday, July 11, where they competed for the title of ‘Nigerian Idol.’ After both contestants had performed to their hearts’ content, Kingdom was declared the winner. Both finalists performed Fela Kuti songs. ‘Yellow Fever’ was performed by Francis, while ‘Gentleman’ was performed by Kingdom.

Kingdom won N30 million in cash, a brand new SUV, a six-track EP recording deal with three music videos, an all-expense-paid trip to the Seychelles, and a weekend getaway to Dubai for two as the winner. A wide range of Tecno products, a Bigi-branded refrigerator with a one-year supply of Bigi drinks, and a DSTV explora fully installed with a 12-month premium subscription were among the other gifts.

After 18 weeks of breathtaking performances, Esther Benyeogo won the third season of the talent show The Voice Nigeria on Saturday, July 24, 2021.

Out of the 25 contestants who started the competition, Esther ‘out-sang’ the other top contestants, Naomi Mac, Esther, Dapo, Kitay, Kpee, and Eazzie, who made it to the final stage.

Benyeogo was awarded N10 million in cash, an SUV, and a recording deal with Universal Music Group.

The Voice Nigeria Season was the first to be recorded in Nigeria, and it was produced by Livespot360 and UN1TY Limited.

Coaches Waje and Yemi Alade, as well as new coaches Darey and Falz, ‘hunted’ for the ultimate voice out of 13,000 applicants for the third season.

The show’s winner was chosen by a panel of judges led by Kyari Bukar, Chairman of Trans-Sahara Investments Corporation; Lilian Olubi, Chief Executive Officer of EFG Hermes Nigeria Limited; and Chris Parkes, Chairman of CPMS Africa.

Five of the top 18 contestants advanced to the grand finale, with Taiwo emerging victorious and taking home a N15 million cash prize.
