ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, has advised Nigerians never to tackle or fight a cult member singlehandedly if they are not “loaded.”

Adejobi gave this advise while responding to an X user who asked what he should do if a cultist stops him and demands for his phone.

He also stated that the best way to handle a cultist is to report them or form a group to kick against their nefarious activities.

    Responding, Adejobi said;

‘’You need to be sure he’s a cultist. How do you know that? Anyway, don’t single-handedly fight or tackle a cultist if you are not “loaded.”‘ it’s not too safe. You can report him or form a group to kick against him and his group. But you must be ready to be consistent, firm, and steadfast. You can’t sit on the fence.”

  • Nigeria Remains Neutral In Russia And Ukraine

Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has stated that Nigeria is still neutral in the war between Russia and Ukraine, despite commiserating with the Russian government over the terrorist attack in Moscow which claimed 140 lives.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja, Tuggar noted that Nigeria has always had a good relationship with Russia since the Soviet and Cold War eras.

    He said;

“Nigeria has been consistent in terms of even when we had a bipolar world, we were non-aligned, we were neither with the US nor the Soviet bloc at the time.

“We dealt with both sides. We are equal opportunity aligners, we are aligned with the interests of Nigeria and we will continue to do so.

“This is why we continue to emphasize today on strategic autonomy and that’s the new name for non-alignment since we no longer have those two blocs, you no longer have a bipolar world.

“With the structure that you have now, it is a multipolar world. We align with whatever polarity benefits Nigeria. The tradition of condoling with countries when they have such unfortunate incidents continues. It’s not new. And Russia is not an enemy.

“Our position on violation of territorial integrity of countries remains the same, it remains consistent, we condemned the violation of Ukraine’s territorial space when it occurred but it does not mean that because of that, we will stop dealing with Russia.

“We will continue to deal with Ukraine, the same way we’re dealing with other countries and whenever something happens to them, whenever there is any misfortune, we will commiserate with them, the same way that they commiserate with us.”

Reacting to the outburst that greeted the development, Yusuf, in a statement titled “In Defence of Mustapha Kwankwaso’s Appointment,” issued through the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Kano Government House, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said Kwankwaso has promoted many young people of all genders.

The Governor clarified that Mustapha’s appointment was not a payback, but rather, he is among the capable youth who worked tirelessly for the success of the present administration in Kano.

The statement reads: “Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has promoted hundreds of thousands of young individuals, many of them sons and daughters of common people.

“The Governor empowers youths and allows them to explore their potential. Certainly, Mustapha cannot be an exception due to his paternal history, which shouldn’t be a barrier to his political career as he has decided to be a politician, like his father.”

Former Indian Lawmaker, Mukhtar Ansari, Dies After Suffering Cardiac Arrest

A 63-year-old former gangster and Indian lawmaker, Mukhtar Ansari, passed away due to cardiac arrest in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.

Mukhtar Ansari, who transitioned from being a gangster leader to a politician, had been incarcerated since 2005. However, his family has raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding his demise, suggesting that he might have been administered a poisonous substance while in jail.

According to BBC reports, security measures were heightened in the state as crowds gathered outside Ansari’s residence upon hearing the news of his demise.

Ansari, who once led his own gang during the 1990s, faced over 60 criminal cases, including 15 murder charges. He ventured into politics, securing victory in his home constituency of Mau during the 1996 state elections and maintaining his position as a lawmaker until 2022.

In April 2023, Ansari was convicted for the murder of Krishnanand Rai, a legislator from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and received a 10-year prison sentence. Subsequently, earlier this month, he was handed a life sentence for a 1990 case involving counterfeit arms licenses.

On Thursday, authorities at the Banda district jail reported that Mukhtar Ansari was admitted to the hospital after complaining of vomiting. Despite receiving immediate medical attention from a team of nine doctors at Rani Durgavati Medical College, he succumbed to cardiac arrest.

Ansari’s brother, Afzal Ansari, a Member of Parliament from the state, alleged that foul play was involved, claiming that his brother had been poisoned. He stated, “Mukhtar said that he was given a poisonous substance in food in jail,” during a media briefing on Thursday, highlighting similar incidents in the past.

Mukhtar Ansari had been hospitalized earlier in the week following a fall in the washroom, as confirmed by jail authorities. After receiving initial treatment within the jail premises, he was transferred to the hospital for further care and discharged after 14 hours.

Following Ansari’s demise, Uttar Pradesh police enforced curfew orders in the state and conducted flag marches in certain areas as a precautionary measure.

Ansari’s son, Umar Ansari, expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of communication from authorities regarding his father’s deteriorating health, noting that he was denied access to visit him two days prior to his death.

  • Drama As Zimbabwean Workers Beat Up Their Chinese Boss Over Salary

A viral video of some aggrieved Zimbabwean workers brutalizing their Chinese boss after he failed to pay their salaries on time has sparked reactions online.

The enraged Zimbabwean workers continue to press the Chinese boss about their unpaid wages. After being struck with the belt, the boss falls to the ground and pretends to lose consciousness.

Communities Harbouring Boko Haram, Other Terrorist Groups Also Deserve The Odi, Okwama Treatment

    By Sanco Ese

I am deeply saddened by the siege at Okwama and the continuous invasion of surrounding Urhobo villages by the Nigerian military following the gruesome murder of 17 of its officers at Okwama.

While the Urhobo Nation condemns the killings in their entirety, we also respectfully and vehemently disagree with the killings of innocent men and women who knew next to nothing about what transpired.

I say this because the necessity for increased protection of the civilian population and of civilian objectives in times of armed conflict was what led to the convening of the Geneva Conference of 1974–1977.

This is a reminiscence of what happened in Okwama/Odi so many years ago, after over 10 mobile policemen were killed.

The military, under the command of former President Olusengu Obasanjo, unleashed mayhem, causing collateral damage and immense infrastructural destruction.

This was done with ruthless efficiency in the town of Odi in the Niger area some years ago, with remarkable success.

After they finished shelling Odi from the land, the sea, and the air, there was not one building left standing there except for, interestingly, the local bank. The casualties in terms of human life were extremely high, but the point was made and the objective achieved. From that point on, the Niger Delta militants stopped killing policemen and soldiers right up until the time that Obasanjo left power. What actually happened in Odi is a crime against humanity.

My question now is: why can’t the same solution be applied to the Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen, and other militia groups terrorising and killing Nigerians like flies by the Tinubu administration today?

What is the fear? Why should the same treatment not be meted out to any city or community in our country that grants the foot soldiers of Boko Haram covert support, a safe haven, a sanctuary, or shelter?”

Why is it that only in the south are such actions, genocide, and extreme force being carried out?

We have seen brute force used on the people of the Niger Delta, but in my opinion, the Okwama massacre of innocent men and women is the most savage and brutal war and bloody onslaught in African history waged against the Urhobo Nation.

I urge the Nigerian state to temper justice with mercy because to err is human and to forgive is divine. After all, forgiving the numerous continuing blunders, stealing, and corruption by politicians has become the pastime of most Nigerians, and it’s government.

May God deliver us and restore our nation to the oath of glory in Jesus name.
