There is Palpable Tension After Bandits Kidnap 39 children in Katsina.

39 youngsters who were working on a farm in the Mairuwa settlement in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State were abducted by bandits.

This online media outlet learned that on Sunday, a group of robbers attacked the neighbourhood and proceeded to kidnap at least 39 children who were helping out on the farm.

According to reports, the assailants encircled the farm and began shooting randomly before kidnapping the labourers.

According to a source in the neighbourhood, the victims’ parents are pleading with the federal and state administrations to free their kidnapped children.

He claimed that after paying a tax of N1 million to the robbers in order to be able to collect the farm owner’s products, the farm owner’s representative mobilised the kids.

The source claimed that after the farm owner refused to give the robbers the N3m they demanded, the bandits decided to attack the farm and abduct the kids.

They demanded N3 million from the owner before he could harvest his product, and when he offered them N1 million as partial payment, he intended to start the task before they had all of the money, but sadly the bandits would not accept that.

There are 33 victims total in our community of Mairuwa, including young women who are approaching marriage, the man claimed.

The tragic story was confirmed by another Mairuwa resident, who also claimed that the bandits had held the farm owner for ransom and demanded N30 million.

“The farm’s owner is a Funtua resident, but his representative lives here in Mairuwa village,” he stated. The thieves are currently requesting a N30 million ransom over the phone of one of the victims.

“They claimed to be at the farm in order to kidnap the owner or his representative, but when they did not see either of them, they changed their plans and took the workers instead.”

According to a resident of Katoge in Kankara Local Government, bandits initially demanded N2 million from his community in exchange for access to their fields, but subsequently agreed to settle for N 600,000.

“We were able to raise N400,000 and gave it to the banidts, but we still need to raise N200,000 before we can enter our farms. The situation is pretty serious here, and other nearby communities are also under danger,” he stated.

  • Why PDP Won’t Sanction Wike and his Allies- Fresh Fact Emerges

Why PDP won’t sanction aggrieved govs – NEC members

There are signs that the Peoples Democratic Party may not punish five of its governors for their recent comments criticizing the party’s leadership.

The dismissal of PDP National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu has been demanded by Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State consistently.

Aggrievied PDP Governors – Wike Allies. From L-R Governor Seyi Makinde, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor Nyesom Wike, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Governor Samuel Ortom

They based their demands on the requirement for a fair allocation of the party’s elective offices in accordance with the PDP charter.

They particularly stated that since a Northerner, Atiku Abubakar, emerged as the party’s presidential candidate, Ayu (also from the North), should step aside to make room for a Southerner to replace him.

The five governors, who were adamant about getting their point over, quit the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in September and have since openly supported ideas that are thought to be harmful to the party’s chances of winning the 2023 elections.

In the meantime, requests for the governors to be sanctioned to instil some elements of discipline among party members have been prompted by these recent incidents, among others.

However, Chief Bode George, a former chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, said that caution must continue to be the watchword as the party steps up its efforts to appease the irate governors and their allies ahead of the 2023 elections.

As an elder, we will keep pleading with Ayu to don his thinking cap, he said to the newsmen. Because he wants to lead Nigeria, Atiku should continue to support nationalism.

“The moment is not now, even if the party wishes to censure them. As a party elder, if Atiku continues to be determined that he will not listen and Ayu is acting out everywhere, whatever anyone wants to do will be done. Atiku must be aware of the fact that these governors are not pawns on a chessboard.

“Atiku can not be discussing the party’s constitution right now. If we had not disregarded our constitution, would he have become a presidential candidate? He responded, “What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Even if Atiku wins today, the PDP elder statesman said, “He has already sown dissension in the minds of the people.

When Atiku met with them, he promised to move the chairmanship to the South. They are willing to play games with him if he is playing games with these governors. Atiku believes he has already arrived at the Aso Rock Villa.

“People are selling Atiku lies, saying that he would win without these governors, but he does not realize how enraged our (South-West) people are.

He will receive the support of the entire North, and we will see if he can secure 25% of the vote in the South-West, he said.

The nanny and cook are still being detained.

The nanny and cook are still being detained.

The Police revealed that the next step might be to conduct an autopsy to determine whether Ifeanyi died as a result of drowning in a swimming pool at his father’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State.

A source said it was standard practice for the police to conduct an autopsy in such a case, adding, however, that the police would desist from the move if the deceased family members were against it.

“Though the family members are not saying anything yet because they are still in shock but until anybody says stop, the standard procedure is to conduct an autopsy and we are going to follow that procedure just like in any case of death,” the source said.

Explaining further, the source said out of the eight domestic workers interrogated by the police in connection with Ifeanyi’s death, the cook and nanny, whose job was to cater for the wellbeing of the three-year-old boy, had been detained for reasons including the failure to uphold the duty of care of the minor.

The source said, “It was the work of the nanny to take care of the child (Ifeanyi); the nanny was negligent or how could the boy have left the house without her knowledge?

“The boy left the house, walked to the back where the swimming pool is situated and fell into the swimming pool. Nobody noticed until much later. At that point in time, he had drowned and was at the bottom of the swimming pool.

“So, they brought him out and rushed him to the Lagoon Hospital, where the doctors tried unsuccessfully to revive him. They left the hospital and rushed the boy to Evercare Hospital, where he was declared dead.

“They have deposited his corpse in the mortuary for an autopsy to reveal the cause of death. All the domestic workers at home when the incident happened have been questioned by the police but only the nanny and cook were detained.”

Remember that on the 13th of this month, a three-judge panel of the Appeal Court decided that the Nigerian government had violated international law when it extradited the IPOB leader from Kenya in June 2021.

The court then ordered the government to release Kanu from custody without condition after dismissing all of the accusations brought against him.

However, upon the transfer of the three justices, the Nigerian government petitioned the appeal court, requesting a stay of the earlier ruling’s enforcement.

In a decision that was overturned, the appeal court approved the government’s request. Kanu stayed in custody as a result.

Kanu would still seek to have his victory recognized by the Supreme Court, according to Ejiofor, who said this while providing an update on his routine visit to Kanu on Monday while he was being held by the Department of State Service (DSS) in Abuja.

“I visited Onyendu today at the State Security Service (DSS) Headquarters in Abuja, to specifically brief him on the outcome of the Court of Appeal Ruling, of Friday last week, staying the execution of Onyendu’s Appeal Court Judgement,” the IPOB lawyer added in the statement.

Nnamdi Kanu did not think twice in giving our legal team the go-ahead to immediately start an appeal at the Supreme Court against the ruling of the Court of Appeal staying the execution of its judgement, which naturally will be heard under the Supreme Court Fast Track Rules. This is in addition to critical legal strategies that will remain private.

“Procedures for a quick hearing of the appeal were agreed upon, and since God is our Helper, we are extremely hopeful that it will still end in praises.

“As we had previously stated, rest confident that the Court of Appeal Judgment, which defended Nnamdi and so absolved him of all baseless accusations, still exists and has not been overturned.

“The legal team for Nnamdi Kanu, which is eminently led by Chief Mike Ozekome, SAN, will zealously pursue an appeal at the Supreme Court against the Court of Appeal’s ruling halting the implementation of Onyendu’s historic victory there.

Kanu took advantage of the visit to express his gratitude to all Umuchineke for their unwavering support and solidarity while also urging them to continue acting in accordance with the law as they have done in the past.

Ifeanyi Adeleke: 6 Domestic Staff Released as Police Detain Nanny, Cook, Moves for Autopsy

Six domestic workers who were caring for Ifeanyi Adeleke, the deceased son of Davido and Chioma Rowland, were released by the police.

Following Ifeanyi’s passing in the swimming pool at his father’s house, a number of personnels were arrested for an inquiry and questioning, including the discharged staff.

According to a source, Ifeanyi’s cook and nanny are still being detained by the police, who intend to request an autopsy to ascertain the true reason of the boy’s demise.

The police may perform an autopsy in light of the controversy surrounding the passing of Ifeanyi Adeleke, the three-year-old son of David Adeleke (Davido), Nigeria’s top hip-pop artist, and his finance, Chioma Rowland.

In order to ascertain whether Ifeany died as a result of being accidentally dragged into a swimming pool at his father’s home in the Banana Island neighbourhood of Lagos State, the police have scheduled an autopsy.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, an autopsy is routinely performed by the police in cases like these; but, if the boy’s family objects, the police will abandon their plans. He stated:

“Though the family members are not saying anything yet because they are still in shock but until anybody says stop, the standard procedure is to conduct an autopsy and we are going to follow that procedure just like in any case of death.”

The insider went on to say that while the chef and nanny are still being held in custody, six out of Davido’s eight domestic helpers who had been invited for interrogation earlier had been arrested.

It was the nanny’s responsibility to look after the youngster (Ifeanyi), therefore how could she have been careless if the boy had left the house without her knowledge?

They left Lagoon Hospital, he continued, and were taken in a medical emergency to Evercare Hospital, where he was later declared dead.
