A group, on the auspices of Middle-Belt United Assembly (MBUA), has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, to be able to sanitize his government.
The organisation said in a statement released on Sunday in Kaduna by its President, Comrade Moses Mwarga Aji, that the number of scandals and charges hanging over Malami’s head are too numerous and weighty to be disregarded, given the sensitive nature of the post he holds.
The statement warned that allowing the AGF to remain in office would jeopardise President Buhari’s legacy, urging the President to select a new AGF who is more competent, reliable, and above all, a man or woman of great integrity.
The group condemned the recent invasion of Supreme Court Justice Mary Odili’s Abuja residence, which Malami was accused of being behind, claiming that while the AGF denied his involvement in the invasion of Justice Mary Odili’s Abuja residence, one of the arrested suspects confessed that he is the AGF’s consultant a few days later.
“There is no smoke without fire,” the statement says. AGF Malami has been accused of a slew of transgressions. The controversies and allegations that hang over Malami’s head are just too serious to be dismissed. It is now up to President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint a more trustworthy individual to work for the country.”

The statement stated that President Buhari was elected by the majority of Nigerians to solve their problems, but that things are worsening and out of hand, and that most of Buhari’s appointees are not assisting him because they are serving their own personal interests rather than the interests of Nigerians.
It also stated that the economy and security are in bad form, and although praising Mr. President for his infrastructure initiative, the organisation encouraged him to rebuild his administration immediately and bring in good hands to help him fix the country.
