Yobe Deputy Governor’s son, two others die in road crash

, the Deputy Governor of Yobe State, has lost his son, Buni, in a road accident.

On Saturday, June 11, a seven-year-old child named after Governor Mai Mala Buni and two other people died in a road accident along the Maiduguri-Kano highway.

The deceased has since been buried according to Islamic rites at the palace of Mai Fune in Damagum town, Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State, according to the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hussaini Mai Suleh, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, June 12.

“I will forever remember him as someone close to me,” the bereaved deputy governor said of the tragic incident.

Meanwhile, Governor Buni has expressed shock and condolences to Gubana over the death of his deputy’s son.

The governor also wished for a speedy recovery for those who were injured in the accident.

Buni also expressed his condolences to Maina Digma Gana, a member of the Fune state constituency whose 18-year-old daughter died in the crash, as well as the late Alh. Ado Garba’s family.

“But that is the will of Allah (SWT), our creator,” Governor Buni said of the deaths, which he described as “sad and shocking.”

“It is their appointed time to leave this world, and we ask Allah (SWT) to forgive their transgressions and grant them eternal rest in Aljannatur Firdaus.” May Allah give their families the strength to bear such a great loss,” the Governor said.
