Xavi Hernandez has expressed his feelings about being named Barcelona’s new manager.
On Friday, Barcelona announced the appointment of Xavi, a club legend, as their new manager.
After bidding his farewell to Qatari side Al-Sadd ahead of his return to Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Blaugrana.
Xavi, who takes over from Ronald Koeman, is expected to arrive at the Nou Camp this weekend for his official introduction and first press conference on Monday.
“It wasn’t goodbye,” Xavi remarked in an emotional video after Barcelona confirmed his return to the club. It was good to see you again soon.
“I’ve always called the Camp Nou home. You are my supporters, my people, and the club that I adore. And now I’m on my way home. Culers, I’ll see you shortly. Barca! Forca!”
