Wike sues Atiku, Tambuwal, demands recognition as candidate

Atiku: Calling Tambuwal hero after PDP primary exposed Ayu – Wike’s camp

Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is being accused by Governor Nyesom Wike’s camp of working for the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the party’s flag bearer.

In late May, the PDP primary was held in Abuja, and the former vice president emerged victorious to win the party’s nomination for president.

Following a meeting early on Wednesday morning, the Wike camp stated that Ayu exposed himself by the comment he made when it was announced that Atiku had won the election.

Bode George, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Professor Jerry Gana, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and former Governors Segun Mimiko (Ondo), Donald Duke (Cross River), Jonah Jang (Plateau), and Ayo Fayose (Ekiti) were among those present at the event.

Following the reading of a statement by Bode George, Jang made some remarks in which he referred to Ayu, a former President of the Senate, as a biassed referee.

“The fact that Ayu went and embraced Tambuwal, calling him the hero of the convention, indicates…..

Ayu’s embrace of Tambuwal after the PDP convention, calling him the hero indicates that there was a private arrangement with Tambuwal to shortchange other contestants, including Governor Wike”

The former Senator made the observation that “here was a referee who assisted one of the sides in scoring a goal.”

The angry PDP Stalwart announced that they would not participate in Atiku’s presidential campaign as long as Ayu was still a member of the party.
