Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has opened up about Taking Atiku Abubakar to court

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has denied filing a fictitious lawsuit in an effort to have Atiku Abubakar removed as the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for president in the general election of next year.

This comes shortly after some media outlets falsely claimed that Wike had ordered the removal of PDP flags from the Rivers State government building.

The governor denied knowing anything about the alleged lawsuit or even knowing the attorneys who initially filed it.

“I have no knowledge of the alleged suit. I didn’t ask anyone to bring a lawsuit on my behalf.

On Friday morning, there were numerous reports in the media claiming that Governor Wike and one PDP chieftain, Mr. Newgent Ekamon, had taken the PDP to court to demand that Atiku be dropped as the PDP’s candidate in the upcoming presidential elections.

According to the alleged lawsuit with the file number FHC/ABJ/CS/782/2022, the plaintiffs’ arguments were based on the idea that Atiku received an unfair advantage in the PDP primary, which helped him win the party’s nomination for president on May 28 and 29.

Wike responded to the article by denying the suit that was allegedly filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

He claimed that the suit was the creation of troublemakers who only wanted to use him to achieve quick political gains.

He said with great emphasis, “I don’t know the lawyers.”

“Am I a kid to be filing a suit at this time,” he continued. After the primary, I had 14 days to file any legal action. I didn’t do that, so should I file a lawsuit two months after primary?
