Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has declared his intention to run for president in 2023.

Wike said he is the best man to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) when he visited Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom at the Government House in Makurdi on Sunday.

“I’m the person who can tell them enough is enough to remove APC from power,” he said. We must seize power, and I am willing to do so for the PDP.

“God is with us, which is why APC continues to fail every day.”

As a result, he urged stakeholders to give him their mandates rather than sell their votes, assuring them that he is capable of confronting “this evil government.”

If elected, he promised that security would be his top priority, and he questioned those founding fathers who left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but still want to be recognised.

Wike stated that he takes party issues personally because he has nowhere else to turn.

“By the time you ran away, you had sold your share as a founding father, so you can no longer claim to be one of the founding fathers,” he explained.

“I ran for this political party. Since 1998, I’ve been a member of this political party. I don’t have anywhere to go, so anything that happens to this party affects me personally. I’ve never backed down.
