The federal government on Monday set the groundwork for the construction of what it described as the clinic’s presidential wing, in response to persistent complaints about the clinic’s inefficiency at the Nigerian government’s state house in Abuja.

President Buhari’s chief of staff, Ibrahim Gambari, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by dignitaries and government officials.

According to Gambari, once completed, the hospital will serve not only the President, his vice president, and their families, but also visiting heads of state who may require medical care. Sani, on the other hand, has reservations about Nigerian authorities.

“Regardless of how much money is spent upgrading and equipping the Presidential Clinic, their obsession with foreign doctors and foreign clinics will never change,” the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member wrote.

Over N20 billion is believed to be invested in the construction of the Presidential clinic.
