A Sacked Pastor of the Living Faith Church International, aka Winners Chapel, Peter Godwin, has claimed that the church sacked 40 pastors for not generating enough money in their branches.
Godwin, who revealed this in a viral video, also stated that he and other pastors were fired on July 1.
The church hired the clergyman on August 28, 2020.
“Actually, by the special grace of God, our father in this great assembly, Living Faith Church, received a mandate from the Lord to plant 10,000 churches in Nigeria, and by the special grace of God, I was privileged to be one of the pastors who were employed on August 28, 2020, which was last year,” he said.
“After that, I began working, dedicating myself to the Lord’s cause. I did everything I could to ensure that I won souls for Christ, but on July 1st, I received a call saying that the state pastor wanted to see me, so I assumed I was the only one. I was taken aback and went to his office.
“When I arrived, I noticed that there were other pastors there as well, around 40 of them, so I decided to join them. We received a letter a few minutes later. I opened the envelope to see what was inside and discovered that it was a bag letter.
‘Consequent upon the recent performance review, which indicated that your church growth index falls below expectation,’ adds the letter’s text.
Please be advised that, effective immediately, your service as the pastor in charge is no longer required in this commission. Before leaving, you must abandon your official lodging and hand over all of your belongings, including your official ID card, to the area pastor.’
“So the next day, I called management to find out what had happened because I hadn’t been involved in any questionable or wicked activities. I was told by management that the church does not operate at a loss, and that the entire income earned from my station should be enough to cover my welfare and housing, thus I am hereby terminated because of my poor income.”
