The plateau state police command have confirmed the Arrest of Labour Party Governorship Candidate
Yohanna Margif, the state’s Labour Party governorship candidate, was taken into custody, according to a confirmation from the Plateau State Police Command on Saturday.
It was discovered that Margif was taken away late on Thursday by security personnel amid controversy over claims that he had resigned as the Labour Party’s candidate for governor, an assertion that he later refuted.

In a statement on Saturday, the Police Command’s spokesman, Alabo Alfred, confirmed the labour party Governorship arrest, saying, “Contrary to the report being circulated by some online news media claiming that the governorship candidate arrest by Plateau State Command personnel was motivated by politics, the Command wishes to inform members of the public that such report is malicious, misleading, and unfounded.
“Amb. Margif was criminally reported against by his business partner, one E.C. Gajare, who claimed that Amb. Margit had given him a bad bank check in connection with a recent business deal.
As a result, the Police invited Amb. Margif to respond to the charge against him in order to determine whether it was true.
“The Plateau State Police Command wishes to clarify that the Nigeria Police is an impartial agency that vigorously pursues criminal matters regardless of who is involved.

The public is hereby urged to ignore this noxious report that is intended to harm the reputation of the Plateau State Police Command.
“CP Bartholomew N. Onyeka psc (+), the commissioner of police, wants the public to be aware that nothing will prevent the command from carrying out its legal obligations.
“The CP further advised all media outlets to always verify information before making any publication, while he admonished members of the public to go about their lawful businesses and promptly report any suspicious movements within their community,” reads the statement from the CP.
