PFN Leader has stated why Isa Pantami should step aside for investigation
Bishop Charles Ighele, Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria’s Financial Accountability Council, has urged the embattled Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, to step aside until proper inquiries into his alleged links to terrorist organisations are carried out.

Ighele also demanded that the Presidency look into the allegations made against the minister.
While describing security as a sensitive issue that should be treated with the respect it deserves, the cleric urged the government to investigate Pantami’s case, even though the incident occurred before he was appointed to his current role.
“The Federal Government should not approach this issue with kid gloves; instead, they should dig deeper and determine the facts concerning the Minister’s alleged romance with terrorist groups prior to his appointment to office,” he added.
More information from the international community is needed by the government.
“The problems at hand are so extreme that you will never be able to persuade the United States, the United Kingdom, or the rest of the international community that you are battling terrorism.
“It’s likely that he’s changed his mind about his extra-Islamic stance. Many people, however, do not believe he has repented. Security services and the international community are in the same boat. They will believe he wants to stay in office, which is why he has said what he has said so far.
“For the sake of the country and people, the Minister should step aside,” the cleric said. There are certain things you must forego for the sake of the society and country. So, although the federal government will believe him, the rest of the world does not. Pantami, a Muslim cleric, should resign as a sign of regret for what he said years ago, in my opinion.

“The minister should take a page from former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun, who resigned honourably when the stakes were highest.
Public opinion may be strong at times, but all I know is that resigning would bring him honour. However, if he continues to stay in office after his term ends, he will have lost the honour for good, and the international community will no longer support him. So he must choose between staying in the workplace, which might not last more than two years, or resigning now and gaining eternal honour. I’ll ask him to leave if I need to advise him.”
