However, Obi withheld specifics of the meeting.
“Earlier today, I visited Port-Harcourt,” he wrote on Facebook, “to consult with His Excellency, Governor Wike on crucial issues of national interest.”
However, Oseloka H. Obaze, one of Obi’s travelling companions, suggested that the former governor’s meeting was related to talking about political aspirations generally.
“Politics devoid of resentment. Nigeria is larger than the sum of us. Total inclusivity is necessary to save the country. Everybody on the job. Leading by example, @PeterObi.
He moves, and we obediently follow,” he tweeted while floating the pair’s photo.
Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, paid a visit to Wike on the same day.
The governor of Ebony State, Dave Umahi, had also stopped by to see Wike on Saturday before Gov. Mohammed’s visit.
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar defeated Wike for the People’s Democratic party’s presidential nomination.
