In response to allegations made against Tanko Muhammad by 14 Supreme Court justices, the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters has announced that it will not invite Tanko Muhammad, the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, for questioning.
Fatima Jiddum, the committee’s clerk in an interview with newsmen on friday stated that Instead of questioning the former CJN, the committee would visit the Supreme Court.

The committee’s mandate, according to her, is to investigate the problem rather than look into it.
The committee will therefore investigate it but will forego inviting the CJN.
We’re just trying to figure out what the problem was, not really probing.
“We are going to the Supreme Court to hear from them,” Jiddum continued.

When we go, we’ll ask them what specifically happened so we can prevent it from happening again.
