African Action Congress, AAC Presidential Candidate, Omoyele Sowore has stated that he assisted in getting Peter Obi the Labour Party Presidential Ticket

Omoyele Sowore, who is running for president as a candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has admitted that he was instrumental in Peter Obi’s rise to the position of presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP).

Sowore related how he and an activist lawyer named Femi Falana assisted the Labour Party in selecting Obi when the party was having a dilemma

The activist stated that he and Falana had engaged in legal activity to protect Labour Party.

The candidate for president of the AAC relayed the story that there were voices raised suggesting that Obi should not be considered for the post.

On Monday, he delivered a speech at the memorial lecture that was organised in Lagos in honour of Chief Gani Fawehinmi, who was a human rights lawyer and activist who passed away.

Sowore divulged the information that they were successful in obtaining a court judgement, which Falana utilized when defending Peter Obi’s Labour Party.

“When the Labour Party ran into a problem, there was a member of the party who insisted that the Labour Party could not present the candidacy of Peter Obi. ” They ran into some legal trouble.

“We went and obtained a judgement in court, from the Court of Appeal, and handed it over to Falana to use it to defend the Labour Party, and by extension, Peter Obi’s candidacy.”

“Yes! “I’m just letting you know that the mission of our organisation is to save lives,” Sowore said.
