The defence headquarters on Tuesday dissociated the armed forces of Nigeria from the circulation of doc, calling for the overthrow of the democratically elected authorities led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement issued by Muhammed Wabi, deputy director of defence info, the DHQ accused a gaggle, “Nigerian Continuity and Progress’’ as being behind the doc.

Wabi alleged that the doc referred to as for the organising of an “interim authorities’’ rather than the elected authorities.

The statement careworn that the armed forces of Nigeria could be very aware of its constitutional duties and wouldn’t be misled into any act that may undermine democracy as enshrined within the 1999 Constitution as amended.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS ON THE CIRCULATION OF SEDITIOUS PUBLICATIONS

The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) needs to dissociate itself from the rascality and intentions as espoused in a doc being circulated by a faceless group named Nigerian Continuity and Progress (NCP) calling for help of a revolution to oust the present democratically elected authorities and as an alternative set up an illegitimate interim authorities.

The AFN outrightly condemns the undemocratic and demonic actions of the writer of the doc. Accordingly, members of the general public are enjoined to discountenance the content material of the paperwork being circulated by NCP and equally condemned in totality, the decision to derail our hard-earned democracy.

It must be famous that the AFN could be very aware of its constitutional duties and won’t be misled into any act that may undermine democracy as enshrined within the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria1999 as amended.

The AFN stays unflinchingly loyal to the Constitution, in addition to to President Muhammadu Buhari, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, all related Law Enforcement Agency have been suggested to unravel these behind the seditious doc for applicable actions.
