On Friday, there was controversy in Oyo State as security operatives attempted to arrest Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, a self-styled warlord.
Ejes Gist NewsOnline gathered from sources near Mr Igboho that while on his way to Lagos, the acclaimed activist was attacked by security operatives attached to Operation Burst.

Mr. Igboho did not respond to calls and text messages from our correspondent seeking complete details of what happened.
Olugbenga Fadeyi, the state police spokesman, did not respond to calls and text messages either.
But the incident was confirmed by Femi Fani-Kayode, a former aviation minister and Mr Igboho’s ally.
He said that when the attempted arrest occurred, Mr. Igboho was going to meet an elder statesman, Ayo Adebanjo.
A short clip of the scene was shared by Mr Fani-Kayode.
I just spoke to my brother Igboh on Sunday. He told me there was a violent attempt to arrest him this afternoon, while he was on his way to see Baba Ayo Adebanjo in Lagos, by a joint team of soldiers, DSS operatives & policemen numbering about 40 on the Ibadan/Lagos Expressway.
This attempt to ambush & abduct him I condemn. Not only is it reckless, but it is very dangerous as well. All they need to do when the security agencies want to see him is invite him to their office. I am not aware of any crime he has committed, and on all sides, I urge restraint.

Let me also send a warning to the FG that Sunday Igboho is a hero to millions of Yorubas and it would be the greatest mistake they could make to either kill him or detain him unlawfully. It’s better than violence & war to build bridges, dialogue & peace. For the wise, a word is sufficient,’ he wrote on Twitter.
Mr. Igboho was recently in the news for issuing an eviction notice to Fulani herdsmen in South-West Nigeria about reported cases of kidnappings and killings allegedly committed by herdsmen.
