The year 2022 could mean a lot for our party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in terms of rebuilding the party and reconciling aggrieved members of the party both at the state and national level.
It is a year we start laying the building blocks of unity and reconciliation for the 2023 general election. The basic duty of a political party is not only to win elections but to ensure harmony amongst its team members. The year of the next election cycle in 2023 may appear far away, but it is not quite so. Every minute inches towards the 2023 general election. This means a lot to all political parties, particularly the PDP.
Without disregard for other political parties and their candidates, the 2023 presidential election is going to be a straight fight between Senator Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The APC is the ruling party at the federal level and we must not undermine the fact that Ex-Governor Bola Tinubu is a formidable political tactician who must be tamed by all means.
The challenges before us may be tough but not insurmountable. This is time for rebuilding our nation, this is a time for rebuilding brotherhood, this is a time for building our future as a people, and we must be united in our desire to change this government. Therein lies our hope for a better tomorrow and there lies our path to honour, prosperity, and greatness unimaginable.
The Attic/Okowa/Sheriff ticket is divinely wired to deliver Nigerians and Deltans from poverty, slavery, underdevelopment, insecurity and, above all, from the vestiges and strangulating effect of our collective oppressors as a people.
I call on members of the party especially in the south-south, to unite as it would enable the region to win a national position in the general election.
The country is bleeding and in need of help, so therefore we must rescue ourselves from the cruel and unrelenting claws of the Dark Angel that presides over the affairs of our land. We owe ourselves and future generations that sacred duty.
Thankfully, our own son Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, by divine providence, has been chosen as the Vice Presidential candidate of our great party. This is victory for Delta State, it is victory for Niger Deltans and a boost to our collective aspiration as a people within the Nigerian state. This is time for rebuilding our nation, this is time for rebuilding brotherhood, this is time for building our future.
Henceforth, we need to be careful what we say as a party to one another and we should stop accepting and feeding into the deceitful and mendacious narrative that is being encouraged and fuelled by the Buhari administration and our collective enemies which asserts that we are all hopelessly corrupt, clueless, disunited and incapable of taking over the reigns of government at the Federal level.
Whatever happens in Nigeria and whatever may come our way, one thing remains clear: an idea whose time has come cannot be successfully resisted.
Today may belong to our oppressors, but tomorrow belongs to us.
At the appointed time, we shall rise up to where we belong as a people and we shall free ourselves from the demonic shackles and satanic chains that have been placed upon us by our collective tormentors and demonic oppressors.
May God hear our prayers.
