Grassroots Researchers Association (GRA) was inaugurated in , , in 2009 as a response to the insurgency in northeastern Nigeria. The group was formally registered with the federal Corporate Affairs Commission in 2016. It was initially conceived as a versatile affiliation of impartial grassroots researchers from completely different professions and backgrounds spanning the nation’s six geopolitical zones.
