Speaking about the clash, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Thursday stated there was no death in the crisis.

The violence was supposedly triggered by the rumoured death of a Hausa trader who was apparently hacked down by some scoundrels thought to be Yoruba.

Oyeyemi stated 4 individuals had actually been detained while eight knives were recovered from them after the bloody clash between the 2 tribes.

The PPRO stated, “The violence broke out when some Hausa petty traders refused to pay the compulsory everyday market levy to the market rascals.”
