Two pass on, others harmed in Lagos train crash


Numerous suburbanites holding tight a moving train were squashed on Friday after the train crashed into a stationary business transport stopped near the railroad line in the Agege region of Lagos State. Albeit official report put the loss figure at two, a few onlookers said that seven people passed on while a few others were harmed.

It was learnt that the transport driver had quite recently dropped off a few travelers at a recreation center – a couple of meters away – and stopped the vehicle near the railroad line while he went to discharge in an uncompleted building. The transport conductor, who was taking care of the vehicle, hurried to call the driver the minute he heard the blasting of the train’s horns. When the driver landed to move the transport far from the detect, the train was said to be quick drawing closer as he and the conductor fled to wellbeing.

An occupant, Deji Olawunmi, said individuals holding tight the train, lost adjust as it clung to the transport. He expressed that some of them fell into the way of the speeding train and got pulverized, while others bounced on piles of sand around the scene. He stated, “The occurrence occurred around 8am. A lady who was selling nourishment here cautioned the driver not to stop the transport near the railroad line, yet he said he would not remain long in the latrine. When he returned, it was late.
