Tears Flow as Six Islamic clerics died in horrifying car accident


Six clerics were killed in a horrifying car accident in Kano State yesterday after participating in an Islamic propagation outreach known as Da’awah.

The victims were returning from Da’awah in the Sumaila local government area when the incident occurred, it was learned last night.

According to reports, the Imam Malik Islamic Foundation supported their mission.

The foundation received the tragic news of the crash around 3:00 p.m., according to a foundation official.

According to information provided to the foundation, all six clerics who were the Da’awah’s leaders perished in the road accident.

She said she didn’t know what happened to the other members of staff who were part of the clerics’ entourage to Sumaila.

According to the official, the deceased were led by Sheikh Alkassim Zakariyya, who also died in the accident.

“We have now gathered at the foundation in the Dakata area,” she said. We’re now on our way to Sheik Alkassim Zakariyya’s house to lay them to rest.”

Abdullahi Labaran, a spokesman for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), said the command had not yet received any information about the crash.
