Trader in court for ‘stealing’ weave-on


A 27-year-old dealer, recognized as  Akachukwu Onyeoma, has   appeared earlier than an Ojo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, for allegedly stealing hair weave-on and relaxers price  N600,000.

The defendant appeared earlier than Magistrate A.A. Adesanya on a cost of stealing.

He, nonetheless, pleaded not responsible to the cost.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Simon Uche, advised the court that the defendant dedicated the offence. on Sept. 28, at Ojo, Lagos.

He alleged that the defendant stole the objects from the store of her neighbour,  Mrs Jennifer Oluchi’s.

Uche submitted that the store was situated at Church Bus Stop, Ajangbadi, Lagos.

He advised the court  that the defendant was buying and selling close to the complainant’s store however  had no store to retailer his items.

According to him, the complainant gave  the defendant the chance to be protecting his wares in her store on the shut of labor.

Uche stated that the complainant  found on  Sept. 28 that her items had been stolen.

He advised the court that the padlock of the store was neither damaged nor destroyed, however merely opened with the important thing to maneuver away the products.

The prosecutor stated that the defendant was the one individual, who had entry to the complainant’s  store, noting that stealing contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Justice of the Peace granted the defendant bail in the sum of N150,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case till Dec. 11, for point out.
