In a statement lamenting his passing, Audi stated that Dickson’s passing had caused the NSCDC headquarters to go into sorrow because of how well-liked and well-known he was among coworkers.

“A terrible accident that took the life of Assistant Superintendent of Corps 1 (Asc 1), Dickson Dike, who was adored by many, has plunged the National Headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) into grief.

According to the communiqué, “Dickson’s death left many Corps personnel, his admirers, colleagues, top management staff, and the CG in rude shock and disbelief that the officer is no longer there.”

According to Audi, the sad occurrence happened on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in Abuja at around 19.30.

The late lead outrider was “a very intelligent, dedicated, hardworking, loyal and committed officer who occupied a very special place in his heart,” according to his description of the officer.

“Dickson was a very nice officer. He was committed and never refused work when requested. He loved riding his power bike. He had a passion for his career, and he will be dearly missed.

“He had a very special place in my heart because of his humility, loyalty, and dedication. He was also very close to my family, so if anyone is deeply affected by his passing, it is me.”

The CG expressed his condolences to the late officer’s family in a letter, saying that while Dickson’s passing was a terrible loss for the NSCDC as a whole, he was comforted by the knowledge that his goodness and humility would ultimately secure him a position in the Lord’s kingdom.

“Madam, take heart—your husband was a nice man. We will do our best to support you through this tough time; we will not leave you alone.

“My office is prepared to cover all funeral costs and to see that the benefits from his life insurance and burial are paid as soon as feasible.

“Dickson was a very devoted and proud civil defence attorney who never made light of his profession during his career.

“We are with you in this struggle. He was a real Hero and died while serving. Only God knows why he took him.

The late Dickson’s wife, Mrs. Peace Adaeze Dickson, has also been offered employment by the NSCDC in an effort to fill the vacuum left by her husband.

We will look after you and the kids, he stated, adding that we will make efforts to comfort you.

I know how it feels to lose a loved one, more specifically a husband, she remarked. Because of these lovely kids, I want to give you encouragement. God will help you through this.

“We will not be too far away, and I will make sure we help you in any manner we can.
