Top Northern Politician dumps APC for PDP
Adamu Garba Talba, a former senator from Yobe State South District, has defected to the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) (PDP).
Talba claimed that “injustice” experienced at the most recent primary elections is why he is leaving the APC.

He made his announcement at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja. “I have resolved to defect from the APC to the PDP due to the injustices we experienced in our former party, the APC, together with the people of my Yobe South district and my teeming followers throughout the state,” he said.
Because individuals who accept my political ideology were misled and treated unfairly, he continued, “we must leave the party and rejoin my old political party (PDP), where we feel we would be accommodated and treated honestly.”
Talba served as a senator from May 29, 2007, to May 2011, inclusive.

In order to combat desert encroachment in the northern portion of the country, he argued for the creation of a National Desert Commission in September 2008 while serving as a senator.
