“1. President Buhari Arrives In Nigeria After UNGA Trip To USA”

The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has returned to Abuja, the nation’s federal capital territory, following his participation in the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City (UNGA).

President Muhammadu Buhari, Ejes Gist reports, left the shores of Abuja, Nigeria, for New York, America, on Sunday in order to participate in the world gathering.

He returned to Nigeria through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Sunday, September 26th, with his plane touching down at approximately 5:20 a.m. local time.

According to reports, Buhari was immediately transferred to the presidential villa in Abuja after landing at the airport.

Apart from attending the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, the Nigerian leader also participated in a number of high-level meetings and interactions while in the United States.

“2. Bandit Terrorists Release 10 Abducted Kaduna Baptist Students”

Ten abducted students from the Bethel Baptist School in Kaduna State have reportedly been released by bandit terrorists, according to reports.

Ejes Gist reports, the Christian Association of Nigeria informed them of this development (CAN).

Rev. Joseph John Hayab, the Vice President of CAN (19 Northern States and Abuja) and the chairman of the CAN chapter in Kaduna State, revealed this in a text message to the PUNCH newspaper.

“Ten more students from Baptist High School were released this afternoon,” he explained further. We currently have 11 bandits on the loose.

“We would like to express our gratitude to all Nigerians for their prayers and support.

“We have faith in God that the rest of the material will be released very soon.” “All of the children have been reunited with their families.”

3. SERAP To Buhari: Publish Names Of Suspected Looters Of N6trn NDDC Funds”

According to the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), President Muhammadu Buhari should release the names of Nigerians who were named in the recent Forensic Audit Report on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

In a previous report, Ejes Gist News reported that the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, had submitted a report to President Muhammadu Buhari on the operation of the commission between 2000 and 2019.

An open letter signed by its deputy director, Kolawole Oluwadare, dated September 25, 2021, and addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari, requesting that he direct Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (Abubakar Malami), SAN, to widely publicise the names of those charged with crimes in the report.

“4. Resident Doctors Give Buhari Govt 72-hour Ultimatum To Pay Salary Arrears”

Earlier this week, the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) demanded that the federal pay the salary arrears of its members within the next 72 hours.

Ejes Gist reports, the NARD made this statement during a press conference held on Saturday, following the swearing-in of new NARD executives in , according to the report.

As Dare Ishaya, the newly elected president of the association, explained to reporters, the strike will continue until the minimum demands of the organisation are met.

“5. 2023: Nabena Goes Spiritual, Reveals What He Will Do To Jonathan If He Joins APC”

Yekini Nabena, a former National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has warned former President Goodluck Jonathan against running for the party’s presidential nomination in the 2023 presidential election.

Nabena, who went on a spiritual rant, declared that if Jonathan joins the APC, God will never allow him to win the party’s presidential nomination for the year 2023.

The former APC spokesperson went on to say that if Jonathan were to win the APC nomination by some stroke of good fortune, he would never support the former President’s candidacy.

The only condition Nabena stipulated for welcoming Jonathan to the APC is that he join and only serve as a leader, rather than contesting for the position of president.

He stated that Jonathan had every opportunity to accomplish everything he desired as President of Nigeria in the past and that there was no point in attempting to do so again.

The former APC spokesperson, on the other hand, stated that he will not believe the rumours and speculations that the Bayelsa politician is planning to join the ruling party until Jonathan himself declares his intention to join the party.

“6. Visit to Igboho: Sheikh Gumi May Be A Spy For Bandit Terrorists – OPC”  

Heavily criticised Islamic cleric Sheikh Abubakar Gumi for his visit to Igboho town in Oyo State, according to the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) in the state.

Ejes Gist reports,  Gumi, who was accompanied by Usman Yusuf, the former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Health Insurance Scheme, paid a visit to the town and called on Yoruba Nation agitators to put their calls for secession on hold.

Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, is a Yoruba nationalist activist who is currently imprisoned. The town has been adopted by Sunday Adeyemo.

In a press conference, Rotimi Olumo, the coordinator of the OPC in Oyo State, described Gumi’s visit to Igboho as an insult to the entire Yoruba nation.

According to him, Gumi had crossed the line, and he issued a warning to the cleric, instructing him to stay away from all areas of the South-Western region of Yoruba land.

Rather than making a mockery of the people of the South West, he claims, Gumi’s visit poses a significant security threat to the entire Yoruba nation because they see no reason or interest for it to take place.

7. Nigeria Turns 61: Wike says the country has nothing to celebrate under Buhari’s leadership.

Notwithstanding the fact that Nigeria has been independent for 61 years, Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike has expressed regret that the country continues to face leadership challenges.

The governor stated that as a result of such leadership failure, Nigeria had reached a point in its history where it required God’s intervention more than ever.

At the St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt on Sunday, Wike made the statement during an Interdenominational Church Service organised in commemoration of the 61st Anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence.

He stated that there is little to celebrate as Nigeria marks its 61st anniversary of independence because the country’s leadership continues to entrench hatred, mediocrity, and promote ethnic and religious identity, among other things.

8. Kano: New Emir Of Gaya Emerges”

The of Kano State, led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has appointed Ibrahim Aliyu as the state’s second Emir of Gaya.

The death of Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Abdulkadir necessitated the appointment of a new emir, who was named in his honour.

9. Why I Can’t Ban Almajiri System In Sokoto – Tambuwal” 

As previously reported, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal has stated that his administration will not ban the Almajiri education system, contrary to popular belief.

It was at the closing ceremony of a two-day workshop on Saturday that he gave his assurance. The workshop was aimed at integrating the Indonesian Pondok educational system into the Almajiri-Islamiyya educational system in the state.

According to the governor, banning the Almajiri education system would increase the number of out-of-school children in the country by a significant margin.

Tambuwal went on to say that the review of the Almajiri education system will aid in the reduction of the number of children who are not in school across the country.

According to him, however, the education system will be redesigned by adapting the Indonesian Pondok system in order to make it more effective.

 “10. Lunatics Joining APC – Yekini Nabena Takes Subtle Swipe At Fani-Kayode” 

Mr. Yekini Nabena, a former Spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has described some of those who are considering joining the ruling party as “lunatics.”

He stated that the ruling party is surprising in that it is admitting people who have abused them to the point of being unable to function.

Ejes Gist reports, , former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, who became infamous for referring to President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) by a variety of unprintable names, has recently joined the ruling party.

Fani-Kayode, who previously expressed his desire for Buhari’s son to die and referred to the APC as the Almajiri People’s Congress, has stated that everything he has said in the past has been purely political.

Despite the fact that he did not mention Fani-Kayode by name, Nabena told SUN that such defections are detrimental to democracy.
