Malami Issues Statement On Justice Mary Odili’s Abuja Residence Raid, Calling It A “Nasty Court Process
Abubakar Malami, the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation has denied any involvement in the security operatives’ raid on Justice Mary Odili’s Abuja residence.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his media aide, Umar Gwandu, the AGF stated that his principal, the Federal Ministry of Justice, had no role in the raid that occurred on Friday.
He called the procedure that led to the issuance of the search warrant used in the raid a “nasty court process,” emphasising that he could not have played any part in such a sham. Read Full Details
Channels Television Wins TV Station Of The Year For The 14th Time
Channels Television has won the Nigerian Media Merit Award (NMMA) for Best Television Station of the Year for the 14th time.
Extending its record in the category, the award-winning station claimed the prize on Sunday morning at an event held in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
Channels Television’s Controller of Programmes, Mr Ambrose Okoh, and some senior staff members received the award on behalf of the organisation.
Organisers handed out awards in more than 51 categories to various winners, with a majority in the print category.
Prior to the award bagged on Saturday, Channels Television last won the Best Station of the Year for 2018.
This is in addition to claiming the prize in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017.

Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has spoken out about how the union fought the Federal Government’s plan to raise school fees for all university students to N1 million.
He revealed that the government presented the planned fee hike during the last negotiation with the union while fielding questions from participants at a one-day ‘State of the Nation summit’ organised by the Bauchi zone of ASUU.

Anyim Pius Anyim, a former Senate President, has announced his intention to run for President in 2023.
While speaking with reporters on Saturday, Anyim announced his intentions, stating that he will run for the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential ticket (PDP).
The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation claims that zoning will have no bearing on his decision to run for the PDP presidential ticket.
He argued that the zoning done by the PDP was only for elective offices at the party’s national convention, not for the general elections in 2023.

Terrorists from the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) are said to have obtained fake military uniforms from Libya.
According to reports, the uniforms were ordered ahead of the group’s planned attacks in Nigeria.
Ejes Gist News online reports, a commander of the dreaded group allegedly revealed that the materials would be used during the festive season in December.
According to Eons Intelligence, uniforms were purchased in Kusri, Cameroon, by one Ibrahim Maidogon Kwana.
Kwana and his gang are said to be planning to smuggle the goods into Nigeria via border communities in boats.
The FG has set a new deadline for the NIN-SIM linkage.
On Saturday, the federal government announced that the deadline for Nigerians to link their National Identity Numbers (NIN) to Subscribers Identity Module (SIM) cards would be extended.
The previous extension granted by the government was set to expire on October 31, 2021, but it has been extended once more.
Nigerians were urged to complete the linkage “before the end of the year 2021,” according to the new extension.

Abdulrasheed Bawa, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), claims that the agency had no involvement in the raid on Mary Odili’s home, revealing that the Commission had laughed at such a report.
On Friday, security operatives searched Mary Odili’s Abuja home, which she owns as a Supreme Court Justice. She is the wife of Peter Odili, a former governor of Rivers State who is currently on the EFCC’s watchlist.
Bawa said “mischief-makers” want to put the EFCC at odds with the judiciary in an interview with Channels Television.
